Based in Cary, North Carolina, MacGregor Downs Country Club is a romantic wedding venue near Raleigh. The prestigious club opened in 1967. Today, it is defined by a loyal community of over 650 members. It is nestled along the serene Lake MacGregor, providing a tranquil and elegant backdrop for your big day. Expect old-world charm combined with luxury and lifestyle. At the private country club, guests will fall in love with the rich history and modern details. Your out-of-town guests can arrive via Raleigh-Durham International Airport and travel just 20 minutes to the venue. Before leaving, there are plenty of nearby attractions, such as the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural Sciences, and the PNC Arena.
Facilities and Capacity
The three-story building has the charm of an ancient Scottish lodge. It can host up to 300 guests for outdoor and indoor celebrations.The Main Dining Room has a large stone fireplace and rustic chandeliers, while the recently renovated Lakeside banquet room has a scenic view of Lake MacGregor. The Highlands/Islay, which can be used with the Lakeside room, is an area for intimate gatherings. The Garden Terrace is a large tented space with endless creative capabilites, just off of the Main Dining Room. MacGregor Downs also has an exclusive bar for their members, called the 19th Hole. Your wedding party can enjoy designated rooms while getting ready. There is also a covered entrance, ample on-site parking, and wheelchair access for your guests. Couples will have access to the lake and golf course for photos.

His expertise lies in country club events, weddings, and hotels/lodging, all ranging from a simple setup to an elegant, fine dining experience. These events varied in size, from small, casual gatherings to extremely large events, with close to a thousand guests. He also has served a diverse and multicultural clientele to ensure their traditions are executed perfectly.
Our Assistant Catering Director, or Catering Coordinator, Cheyenne has several years of experience in the catering and events industry. Her expertise lies in country clubs, high volume university events, and weddings. These events ranging from initmate gatherings, to large scale homecomings and weddings. Cheyenne will help you nail down all of the small details of your wedding to make the day a huge success!
