A Dream Italian Wedding in Puglia: Grazie Mille, Francesca!

Best Planners in the world
If you are planning a wedding in Italy then please choose Italian wedding event. Alessia and Federica were absolutely amazing. Always responding to our daily, numerous questions. They brought the vision we had for both welcome party and wedding to light. They are so good and look at the finer details and make sure everything goes smoothly. Love these guys so much!! -

My fiancé and I hired Federica and Alessia as wedding planners for our May 2023 wedding in Florence. I heard nightmare stories about bad planners and was nervous about hiring someone in a different country (we live in California, USA) to plan arguably the biggest event of our lives. From the start, Federica and Alessia were so responsive and attentive. If we needed to get on a call, they would find the time even during peak wedding season in Italy. They were mindful of our budget and honest about which "add-ons" were unnecessary. Even leading up to the wedding, I had no idea what to expect, but to say that they knocked the wedding out of park is an understatement. The wedding was absolutely perfect. Fede and Alessia were so on top of everything during the event and made sure it ran smoothly. We had a vision for the event, but it could not match the reality that Fede and Alessia came up with--it was absolutely beautiful. They made the process of planning a wedding as painless as possible and my husband and I will forever owe them a debt of gratitude. I also want to add that Fede and Alessia are both extremely kind-hearted, warm, and fun! Anyone would be lucky to have them as their wedding planners. We are so grateful to have had them in our lives. -

Book them immediately!
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST HIRE ITALIAN WEDDING EVENT IMMEDIATELY, like right now. Don't even to finish reading this review because you're wasting time from working with the best team ever lol. Honestly, I feel like I found a way to cheat the system because I had 0 bride stress when it came to planning and executing on the big day.
But in case you want to know more, Let's start off with saying that one of my friends legit booked Italian Wedding Event within a month of attending our wedding, that's how AMAZING they are! I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed working with the Italian Wedding Event team, and I have recommended them to many couples since our incredible day. We were lucky enough to work directly with Fede and her wonderful assistant, Alessia, who treated us like royalty (I'm not sure if the royal family even got this type of treatment.) Going into the wedding, I thought an Italian destination wedding was a daydream as we are located in New York and got engaged in the high of COVID-19 (august 2020). We figured that the uncertainty of COVID and closed borders would make this unfeasible, but wanted to at least explore the option to make sure. We spoke with 2 other wedding planners prior to speaking with Fede, and were dishearten to think that the budget would just be too high for us. ENTER ITALIAN WEDDING EVENT TO MAKE ALL OUR DREAMS COME TRUE -- Fede and the team instantly made us feel comfortable, confident, and safe about planning a destination wedding abroad even in those uncertain times. To start, Fede met all of our needs between giving top tier vendor recommendations (she recommended every vendor we used - Venue, Photographer, Videographer, etc.), helped negotiate contracts to get the best of the best service within our budget, and assisted with all paperwork/steps we needed for a civil ceremony (and its no small step to be officially married in Italy vs. having a spiritual ceremony). And because she was so amazing, we also asked her to work with us to plan a whole weekend of events surrounding the wedding for our friends and family (AND BOY DID SHE DELIVER.) Frankly, we were conscious about our budget since it can easily get out of hand, but Fede did work with us to organize a spreadsheet to account for all of our expenses. Jumping to the wedding (2 years later!!), I don't think a weekend could have been more incredible. Even with us running 2 hours late by the time we started dinner (I'm not even sure how I managed to do that), we were able to do EVERYTHING we had planned. Fede stayed with us the entire night to make sure we were happy and did not need to worry about any details on the wedding. I legit had no idea of any of the stressed/details and was on cloud 9 the whole time. She reworked the schedule, arranged for us be able to keep the music going a bit later so we got to take full advantage of the live band, and even kept track of our bar bill so we were able to stay on budget even with me handing out drinks/shots like Oprah. After 2 years of working together, my husband and I were genuinely sad that our time with Italian Wedding Event was over - the team had truly become part of the family instead of only our wedding planners. But lucky for us, we have friends using them to plan their destinations so we get the privilege of seeing the team again!
SO TAKE MY ADVICE AND BOOK THEM! Every couple should be able to feel the way we felt when planning their wedding! -

Where to even begin! We found IWE from a simple google search and from the moment we had our first zoom call with Francesca we could tell what a truly special person she was. For the next 20 months, Francesca worked tirelessly to put together an Italian wedding beyond our wildest dreams!! She picked up on our style and preferences very quickly, found us the highest-quality vendors, and always provided the most helpful suggestions. She made everything about the planning process SO easy and effortless. We came to visit Polignano about a year before our wedding and she went out of her way to arrange for a wine tasting at our venue, complete with *dozens* of selections and home-made foccacia from her husband's catering company Puglia Kitchen (who we hired for our post-wedding pool party and were OUTSTANDING!). And that was only the beginning! Francesca went absolutely above-and-beyond to take care of us and our families in the week leading up to the wedding -- everything from finding a last-minute shirt replacement for my man-of-honor to picking up a prescription for my father-in-law when he had a medical emergency. And the wedding itself....there was no detail missed, she took care of absolutely everything! My husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing, and the result was honestly the most stunning and once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the music to the catering to the decor, everything was such a dream!! And we owe it all to Francy....who has now become a very dear friend. We cannot thank you enough. -

If you're getting married in Italy - The Italian Wedding Event's team is hands down the best company to work with. From the very beginning to the very end, our experience with Francesca was nothing but exceptional. She is as sweet as ever! You'll instantly feel the love and see how genuine she is through her emails and Zoom calls. You'll quickly become friends too!! As an experienced planner working all over Italy she knows all the talented vendors in every region to work with. She made the experience of planning a destination wedding (in a different country) a breeze. We got married at Belmond Villa San Michele just outside of Firenze (10/10 recommend). On our wedding day, she showed up with a huge smile on her face and the smiles on our faces were even bigger when we saw everything come to life. Her attention to detail and idea to utilize every space in our venue created such a magical event for us and all of our guests. Everyone is still talking about our wedding months later. The most special thing about IWE, and specifically Francesca, is that she really cares. We have gained a lifelong friend. Francy you are next level!!! I cannot thank you enough for making our dream wedding a reality! -

Nothing short of amazing!
We had the privilege of working with Francesca from IWE for our wedding in Puglia the summer that has just gone and wow thank you thank you thank you. Francesca went above and beyond to make our special day one we will always remember. The level of service Francesca provided, the ideas she came up with and the beautiful wedding venue she found for us made the whole experience wonderful. I felt so relaxed and had full trust in her as our wedding planner. I would highly recommend IWE and Francesca in particular, beautiful person inside and out and we are forever grateful for everything you did for us. -

Best experience ever!
It has taken us some time to write this review because we wanted to take the time to do it justice!
My husband and I always knew we wanted an Italian wedding. But being based in Ireland, working long hours and speaking limited Italian, we definitely needed help with every aspect of planning it! And we were conscious that when you’re asking people to travel abroad for a wedding, you really want them to have the best time and come away feeling that the experience was worth the time and expense of travelling. So we needed someone who understood all of that!
Right from the start it was clear that Francesca was different from the other wedding planners we had spoken to.
She was super responsive and took the time to listen to what we wanted and what was important to us. From there, she designed what can only be described as our perfect wedding!
It was clear at all times that we were being guided by someone experienced and we felt we could trust her with organising this really important event!
Even though she was super busy organising other weddings, you always felt like you were a priority and she was engaged and enthusiastic and amazing at all times, even despite having to chase us on multiple occasions for answers- such a skill!
We had three days of amazing food, drink and entertainment, with absolutely no stress for us (which was super important because of how busy we are in our day to day lives!)
Nothing phased Francesca!
Last minute changes to guest lists were handled with no drama. I can confidently say that without Francesca handling everything so calmly, we would have had quite a few fights related to in-laws!
She made the whole process of organising the wedding really simple. She kept track of all the costs, dealt with all the suppliers, and made sure everything ran smoothly.
It was such a relief to know that she was on top of everything.
It meant we could focus on enjoying ourselves, reconnecting with family and friends that we hadn’t seen for a while because of Covid and spending time relaxing and taking it all in.
The three days we had were absolutely flawless. She had thought of everything, from transport arrangements to timing everything to perfection.
We were based near the little town of Monopoli in Puglia. Francesca recommended it as a great place for guests to base themselves as it is a very pretty seaside town with lots of accommodation and great restaurants. All of the guests fell in love with the town. It felt safe but still full of life. We had a lovely welcome dinner in Komera the night before the wedding.
A lot of the wedding party stayed in Il Melograno, a gorgeous hotel a few minutes drive from Monopoli and the wedding venue. We’ll definitely be back!
On the day of the wedding, Francesca had organised one of the beautiful reception rooms for myself, my bridesmaids and family to get our hair and makeup done. We had some snacks and drinks and it was such a relaxing way to start the wedding day. One of the guests said it was their favourite part of the celebrations.
The wedding venue itself, Masseria San Nicola in Savelletri, was stunning and the food and wine, handled by Il Fagiano, was superb.
Together with Francesca, these guys staged the perfect event. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
They were ready for everything, including steaming my dress, which had gotten wrinkled on the drive from the hotel!
The food prepared by Il Fagiano was some of the best we have ever had and the wine pairings were clearly the work of an expert. To be able to pull that together for such a large crowd is a testament to the skill of the people involved.
The host from Il Fagiano was such a credit to the team, able to help with everything guests wanted, including some last minute requests (always a feature of a wedding!). We had some guests with food allergies and the team at Il Fagiano catered for them perfectly, with the host even going so far as to remember which guests had which allergies, and without being asked, bringing them plates of things they might like to eat. The overall effect was that guests felt they were being cared for.
And the team at the Masseria, along with the florists, Leandro, created a really magical setting for us.
The different areas of the Masseria allowed us to move guests around, changing the atmosphere for different stages of the day.
Francesca had recommended changing the tempo of the music and entertainment as guests moved and it worked really well.
Guests particularly loved the theatre of the big white gates opening into the courtyard to reveal the antipasti buffet stalls while the incredible Spaghetti Bros welcomed them with a brass band!
A big shout out to the Spaghetti Bros- they entertained guests all through dinner and were a highlight for everyone.
I think one of the big keys to success, as well as Francesca’s calm temperament, was the quality of the suppliers and people she works with. We’ve mentioned some of them above but there was such a big team of experts that went into making this the perfect few days. We wouldn’t be able to mention all of them but wanted to highlight some below.
Our celebrant, Michaela Solito designed a really lovely, thoughtful ceremony. It was unique and exactly what we wanted. She was a pleasure to deal with.
Hair and makeup was led by the incredible Alessandro Mancini and his team. He made the whole process fun and relaxing! He knew exactly what I wanted and my hair and makeup lasted all day and night! It was a brilliant start to the day!
Giuliana Covella was our photographer and all I can say is WOW! We’ve been at other events where the photographer can be a little intrusive, directing people too much and I find it puts people on edge which means you don’t get the best pictures…but Giuliana and her team were in the background for most of the event. And when we were taking more staged photos, Giuliana put everyone at ease and made the whole process fun and relaxing- not something I’d usually associate with photography sessions!! She got such beautiful shots as a result and was an important part of the day (she basically acted as an extra bridesmaid!). She’s an artist and amazing at what she does. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
The floral arrangements created by Leandro Flowers were simply stunning. The bouquets, the flowers around the venue and the table arrangements were exactly what I wanted.
The bar was run by LeLe. They were excellent and we wrote a separate review on their page.
The travel was organised by Mimmo in Elite NCC. Guests found it to be a really professional operation. Clean, comfortable buses and taxis and always on time.
All the guests commented on how this was the most relaxed, yet expertly executed wedding they had ever been to. Fran and her team made sure everything ran super smoothly,
Her and the rest of the team at IWE really went above and beyond and surpassed our expectations!
We would not hesitate to recommend Francesca and her team! We just wish we could do it all again! -

We found Federica and the Italian Wedding Event via Wedding Wire and we interviewed a handful of wedding planners in Italy for our destination wedding in Florence and to put it simply - Federica is the best! She was not only responsive to every question, concern, idea, random thought we had, but genuinely passionate about her job, creative, a clear problem solver, and just a great presence to be around. I was not at all worried or stressed on our wedding day because I knew Federica would have everything under control and she completely delivered and then some. We've been told by many of our guests that our wedding was the best wedding they've ever attended and I credit all of that to Fede's team. I cannot sing her praises more! -

An absolute dream
My husband and I always knew we wanted a destination wedding. In 2019, when trying to decide where that destination would be Italy was just a dream, not a reality. As New Yorkers, we thought there was no way we could pull off a wedding in Italy until I met Francesca from the Italian Wedding Event.
In our initial introduction (summer 2019), I had shared venue's that I was interested in and dates, I was floored by the detailed response from Francesca. I realized at that moment, with her help this dream could be a reality. We began working together that September, planning for a September 2020 wedding in Tuscany. Little did we know, a global pandemic would rock our worlds, causing us to postpone to September 21.
Throughout this dark time of the complete unknown, Francesca remained to be the light in all of it. We committed to ourselves to have our dream wedding and Francesca made sure we focused on exactly that, the dream. As we continued to plan each event, Francesca never missed a detail with not just wedding deets, but COVID guidance. In May 2021 we received an email from her that Vaccinated Americans could safely enter Italy and we moved quickly to get our official invites out, book flights, hotels etc.
During this craziness to get our guests ready to go and ourselves, Francesca was always 10 steps ahead - she organized communications for flight guidance, the necessary documents we would need to enter the EU, proactively communicated with our vendors for any of their COVID-19 guidance, and regulations, sourcing & securing a doctor to do testing for any of guests or events that required it. All so our guests would feel accommodated and safe for our three events.
Francesca's attention to detail and forward-thinking gave this COVID bride a sense of relief and calmness (she's a real one). Each event was flawlessly executed, she took my visions and amplified them x10.
After two years of absolute insanity, our wedding wasn't just a dream for us but a dream for our guests as well. Francesca's work ethic and support did not go unnoticed by ANYONE.
Like I said earlier, we didn't think having a wedding in Italy would be possible, then we did it on top of a global pandemic - all thanks to Francesca :-D

Federica is a magic-maker! After two years and multiple changes due to covid, we finally had the wedding of our dreams this past August in Positano, Italy. She went above and beyond to make all our dreams come true including helping to coordinate activities outside our actual wedding day (yacht, pool party, rehearsal dinner, transportation, covid testing, Venice honeymoon recommendations, etc.) you name it - she never hesitated to help. A little background first, myself and my husband are from the United States and wanted to be married in Italy so bad but were nervous about booking everything online...Francesca from the Italian Wedding Event took all of my worries away! If I would've known the turnout ahead of time, I wouldn't have had any hesitation. My wedding changed to holiday because of the pandemic and she handled everything flawlessly. Honestly, I never stressed once which was amazing. Her communication was wonderful, all of the pre-event day (since it turned holiday) turned out absolutely spectacular. Our Perfect Day
Selecting The Italian Wedding Event's to help us plan our dream day was the best decision we ever made. Like many of the other reviews on this page, we chose to do a destination wedding in Ravello Amalfi Coast. We wanted to give our guests an experience and offer a slightly different wedding alternative as opposed to the traditional British wedding. Valentina was our event planner and she very quickly understood our vision and executed it amazingly well. We were planning for a good year and a half and at no point did any of the organising feel rushed or last minute - it meant that we could enjoy our engagement and not feel stressed about wedding planning. The vendors which The Italian Wedding Event team work with are extremely professional and are of very high quality from flowers to the DJ. The venue and food were outstanding, providing our guests with a typical Italian experience they will not forget. Words cannot describe how grateful we are to Valentina and the team for all of their hard work to making our wedding the most perfect day. -

IWE is everything you can ask for in a planner and more :) We worked with Francesca (Francy) and from day 1 we knew we were in good hands! First, we had no clue where to even begin with planning a wedding overseas, but Francy was beyond excited as we were to celebrate in Italy. Communication was frequent and she was there to assist every step of the way, it felt like we had known her for years. She was very organized and through and provided us with detailed vision layouts and timelines. Choosing vendors and sorting through contracts was so seamless, it took the stress out of it all! Her expertise and suggestions were exactly what we needed to help make some of the decisions we were uncertain. Who could imagine this dream-like and seamless wedding planning would be halted due to Covid. BUT what was telling of Francy's character and professionalism was that even in a pandemic she kept it together and was ready to hit the ground running and did all that she physically could to ensure this wedding could still go on, without going into too much detail, she was the liaison for all of our vendors to communicate daily and keep us in the loop of all that was unfolding, good or bad. IWE went above and beyond with assisting and hiring legal counsel relating to an issue that was out of our control, this exceeded our expectations and we cannot thank them enough for supporting us during this! After all this, we unfortunately still were unable to hold our wedding with Covid still a big factor but we wanted to make it known that we would recommend IWE and Francy 1 million times over. We are so fortunate to have found a great team of professionals and wish them all the best! We know once the pandemic is behind all of us, they will be rockstars and plan other dream weddings! -

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect day start to finish for our wedding in portovenere. This was all down to valentina our wedding planner who went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly. Throughout the day we gave her free reign for her imagination,and she did not disappoint. One special moment we will never forget was cutting our cake and having our first dance on the harbour outside at sunset. Picture perfect and a memory we will cherish forever. The smallest of things she did just made our day unique. Valentina listened to what we wanted and helped us bring that to life and more without exceeding our budget.We cannot recommend the Italian wedding company enough and the biggest of thank you's to valentina personally for making our dreams come true. -

First off, if anyone out of the country is considering getting married in Italy, an Italian wedding planner is an absolute must. In navigating the intricacies and cultural differences between Italian ceremonies and (in our case) American celebrations, you need someone who understands both. We looked into multiple planners, but Federica and her team at Italian Wedding Event understood our dream of an Italian wedding, while still assisting to integrate some of our favorite American traditions. Too boot, Fede and her team were the most professional, responsive, and organized team we could ever imagine working with. They went above and beyond their role of ‘wedding planner’ and helped create the most magical moment of our lives. Even with the time difference from Rome to New York, Fede would respond to emails immediately, even a full year out from the event. She would Facetime with us regularly, negotiate with vendors on our behalf, and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire planning process. With her at the helm, we could’ve easily just showed up for the wedding and it would’ve been perfect. However, we planned a couple of trips beforehand to decide on a venue and for the tasting because it’s Italy, and who wouldn’t want to take an extra trip there. She helped organize and accompanied us for these trips as well, making us feel like her only client at all times. The process of wedding planning is always stressful and can turn even the calmest of us into “bridezillas”, but Fede and her team were supportive and by our side throughout it all. She’s one of the kindest, most fun, and creative individuals we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and helped make the process a great experience in itself. She listened to all of our wishes and gave us the best suggestions throughout. To say we had an incredible wedding is an understatement. We lived in a fairytale for a few days and easily had the best experience of our lives. And not just us, all of our family and friends that shared in this magical experience have said that this was the most beautiful, fun, stunning wedding they had ever been to. None of this would’ve been possible without the exceptional planning from Fede and her team at Italian Wedding Event.

Amazing - simply the best!
The most amazing wedding planning event company. We are from Miami, Florida and Federica was our wedding planner. We had the most amazing experience planning our wedding from abroad. Everything was done by email, and when we arrived it was the most magical setting in the world. Our wedding was a complete dream come true. If you are thinking of planning a destination wedding, do not even think about it and just do it. Italy is the most romantic, beautiful, unbelievably beautiful place we have ever been to. We got married in Ravello and I would do it again 100 times over. Federica was so detail oriented and so easy to work with. She focus on every detail, every event we planned and everything we planned was executed beyond our imagination. We cannot thank her enough for making our dreams a reality. We are currently on our honeymoon, and we just keep looking at pictures from our wedding and cannot believe how perfect everything turned out. She reacts on the spot and anything that needs to be adjusted or changed is done in an instant. She was absolutely perfect. Please do not think twice about working with the Italian wedding event. It’s 6 months after our magical Umbrian wedding. We’ve written and rewritten this review about 10 times in order to try to capture how amazing Fede and the team at Italian Wedding Event are... and truth be told, there are just no words to capture it fully. From first Skype meeting, to venue hunting through Umbria together, to every single moment of the wedding itself: Italian Wedding Event was absolute perfection. Everything they did was beyond our wildest dreams.
Federica helped us find an unbelievable venue and incredible vendors. She thought 10 steps ahead and somehow felt completely present. As we paid for the wedding ourselves, budget was an issue. Italian Wedding Event kept us UNDER budget (what?!) and somehow delivered an event that looked like 4x our budget. Truly magic. They were the single best investment we made for the wedding.
You will not find a more caring, joyful, smart, on top of it, warm, friendly wedding planner.. anywhere.. ever. Even now I’m realizing these words still aren’t doing them justice. So how about this: If you are even CONSIDERING hiring IWE... Do. It. Now. You will be as speechless as we still are 6 months after our magical Umbrian Wedding. -

We initially found The Italian Wedding Event through a colleague who wasn’t able to book them as they were completely booked up that year. They only take on a specific number of weddings a year to ensure each wedding gets the attention it deserves. This was what drew us to The Italian Wedding Event, knowing they aren’t trying to just churn out weddings and ensure each wedding is unique.
The idea of planning a wedding abroad was completely daunting! That’s where Valentina comes in, we had an instant connection with her from the very first Skype meeting. She completely understood us and what was important to us. She was punctual, flexible, really listened and always had time for us. It was clear she loves her work and has very high standards to ensure her couples get the wedding they envisioned. We had a lot of initial meetings with wedding planners and it was clear that there was no one better than Valentina for us. We initially sent a very long list of potential venues to her and she contacted every single one! We spent 2 days with Valentina driving around Italy to see several of these venues together even though she already found us the perfect venue based on what we had said was important to us. No task was too much for Valentina and she understood that it was the most important day of our lives so we had to be sure before making any choice. Once we got into the wedding planning process, Valentina made everything so easy and just knew which vendors were right for us. Every single one of our vendors from the venue to hair and makeup, music and flowers were amazing and this is down to the Italian wedding event only working with vendors they know and trust to deliver the same high standards as them. Being an Engineer, I am very organised and precise. Valentina, did not miss a thing, she always answered every question and was very patient and accommodating. My husband in general is pretty laid back except when it comes to music he is very fussy and knows exactly what he wants! Despite our music taste being very niche (urban, afrobeats), Valentina found us the perfect Italian band that were able to cater to us and they did an amazing job on the day! On the run up to the big day things became stressful when some guests cancelled last minute/ missed their flights. Valentina was on hand to talk to us, keep us calm and keep things moving. The day itself was perfect, everything ran smoothly and the setting was just beautiful. We and our guests were blown away.
Valentina is the classiest and most wonderful wedding planner we had the pleasure of meeting. She was not only our wedding planner but our counsellor and most amazing friend throughout the process. We are so glad we choose her and any couple would be lucky to have her as their wedding planner!
