Airplane Themed Wedding

Katelyn, on July 18, 2010 at 11:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 24

Hello! I need help! My Fiance' is an Airline Pilot for US Airways and we are getting married next May. I am really looking for Airplane Place Cards. I would like to get either all wooden, all white or all silver so that they can match other things. I would like to either write on there wings directly or with simple black stickers. Also maybe Boarding Pass wedding invitations. Any one have any ideas? Thanks so much!!

What about those toy wooden airplanes as favors with some kinda saying on the wrapping around it....you could do boarding pass menus, std, invites, and even programs....u can do a poster with your names on it for your table made to look like the arrival/departure screens....just think about everythign you take in while flying...fs can prob give u the more detailed flying ideas but run them by someone who doesnt fly planes to make sure the entire guest group will understand them

Do you have a venue yet? You can look into renting out a hangar...I've heard of that before for weddings, and it seems pretty cool. There is a whole lot of stationary and paper products available with aviation themes, so you shouldn't have any trouble there. You could give out luggage tags as practical, usable favors, have an airplane-themed cake or cake topper made, and maybe display photos from your engagement shoot that incorporate airplanes into them. I've attached a picture of really cute wooden airplanes that were used as place cards and a really cute airplane-themed tie/bout combo.

They're made of balsa wood, if that is any help. I'll do a search for you and see if I can come up with anything.

Cute Ideas-- I know you didn't ask for it, but I love this and saved it a long time ago. I think it would go well with your theme Smiley smile

Http://www.ayleebits.com/2006/06/10/diy-boarding-pass-save-the-date/ if you want to DIY the boarding pass invites. Otherwise check out etsy. There are quite a few sellers on there who will make them for you.

I saw boarding pass STD on etsy and the seller made invites too. I would look into renting at a aviation museum or the like. We have two place locally that rent to large parties. One is an military avation museum the other is a avation and space museum. Wedding favor tags or place card tags could be made out of the airplane cutouts they carry at places like Michaels. about 2 inches long and are a top view of a airplane. Price is about a dollar a piece.

If you plan to do favors, some of these things might be cool ideas. I really like the cute candy plane DIY project. It only takes 2 sticks of gum, 2 life savers, and a roll of Smartees or a tootsie roll and a small rubber band. The website shows you how to make them.http://www.birthdayinabox.com/party-ideas/guidesdetails.asp?aseq=653&bgs=145

Sorry. The link didn't work. I didn't put a space in there after my sentence. Let me try that again.

I think it would be so cute to have a custom illustration of you and your fiance flying in a plane. Something similar to the feel of this design http://www.takeitpersonallybychristine.com/904-hitched-save-the-date-magn904.html
