We worked with Manny for our reception and he was just amazing. He made sure our event ran smoothly on the hotels side of things. The ballroom was HUGE and the food was amazing. Best part was the value, amazing price for high quality food, service, rooms and ballroom. Its been 5 months and our guest are still talking about our wedding. We couldn't of done it without Ala Moana Hotel.

the hotel was beautiful for getting ready in, everything was planned perfectly right up to the ceremony, music was all set up, clear direction for guests to find our ceremony, and the service was great

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The Ala Moana Hotel has been renovated and the rooms look quite modern. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to the mall and Ala Moana Beach Park.

Pros
+ small shop in the lobby for snacks, alcohol, etc. It is a little pricey though.
+ reasonable rates
+ conveniently located near the mall - with lots of restaurants and shops.
+ gym and sauna (unfortunately, I rather have a jacuzzi)
+ we had a great time!

Cons
- no jacuzzi
- customer service via phone sucked. When we called the local number and asked a couple questions, one response was "I have no idea."

Hmm.. what kind of customer service is that? Oddly enough, we had no problems when checking in and speaking to the staff in person. Maybe because it was a bit more straight-forward?

- hotel's parking is strange. It's a labyrinth down there. The pavement is uneven and the layout is weird. Why didn't the bulldozers make the ground flat? The fee is $20 per day with in and out privileges.

Overall, we still had a good time. It wasn't noisy and we received our basic amenities. I'm glad that they renovated their rooms to keep up with comparable hotels.
