About

On WeddingWire since 2015

Located in Butler, Pennsylvania, just 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh, Audubon at Succop Nature Park is an outdoor wedding, celebration, and gathering venue where couples surround themselves with natural elegance and style. Vows may be exchanged in front of a picturesque pond, on the beautiful red brick walkway in front of the 1830s Marcraig House, or in an open field facing the woods that surround the property. Romantic and idyllic, these settings create a backdrop for photos that are timeless and irreplaceable. This enchanting property features over 50 acres of natural beauty where couples and their guests may view birds, butterflies, and wildlife.

From May through October, any wedding and reception, or special event, held at this property can accommodate up to 250 guests. Spend your entire event close to nature, starting with cocktails in the 1830 Marcraig House and private back patio, then taking in the beauty of peaceful nature trails before dancing the night away under the stars in our pond-side pavilion shelter. Whether you are planning a ceremony, a bridal shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, corporate party, birthday party, or other special event, you’ll find your perfect setting here.

During the colder months of November through April, events move indoors to the 1830 Marcraig House. During this time, we are able to host weddings or events of up to 60 people seated, or 100 in a mingling-style reception.

Our wedding package includes an exclusive rental of the 1830 Marcraig House and outdoor pavilion areas for the day, tables and chairs for reception and ceremony, a complete and customizable dinner buffet, and linen tablecloths and napkins. Venue and catering staff will be onsite to ensure the venue and all service-related needs are met on the day of your event. While we do not provide day-of coordination, we welcome you to hire a coordinator to assist you on your big day.

Audubon at Succop Nature Park provides in-house catering through Medure’s Catering which features a variety of food styles such as American, Spanish, Cajun, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, and more. Dietary, cultural, and religious meal options are also available.

The wedding of your pinterest board dreams. Without breaking your budget.

We got married here on 9/3/23 and had such a truly wonderful experience! And wowowowow is the venue and grounds beyond beautiful – and the value for its beauty and convenience is unmatched.

We booked the venue about a year and a half in advance and during that time there was a significant change of staffing – and the new team made sure that the transition was not only smooth for us, but that their attention to our needs and improvements to the venue itself were even better than when we'd originally booked. Their Venue Director Karen and Rental Coordinator Karla were truly truly truly so wonderful!

This space is so genuinely affordable for all the beauty that you get. Absolutely reach out if you are interested because I think you'll be surprised at the price! And we can attest that they did not nickel and dime and upcharge like so many other venues do.

On your day, you get access to the full house. There are rooms for the full bridal party to get ready. Our group of 10 women were able to get ready in the two rooms (with full hair and makeup artist set ups) starting at 8am and then consolidated into one room when the groom and groomsmen arrived an hour before the wedding. It was so great as the bride to just be able to get there and stay at the venue and then just walk downstairs and right down the aisle! And it was cute to know that right before the wedding my husband was right next door.

And the house itself!!! The picture opportunities are beyond. It's not just the big beautiful tree and the lake. It's the little rooms in the house. The exposed and weathered bricks with nooks around outside. It's the greenhouse and porch and courtyard.

I will say – the pavilion does take work to bring to life. It's a beautiful wood pavilion with strung lights already there. But it's nothing you can't do with a vision and some DIY and the right vendors to help! Just remember to work WITH the scenery and the vibe of the venue rather than against it.

TL:DR Succop was the perfect place for our wedding vision and we can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

For Reference Budget: Our total wedding cost came in around 45K for the day of all in. We truly feel that to have as beautiful wedding as we did, with nearly 200 people, we got away with a great deal. To have had a wedding like this downtown, it would have easily exceeded this by a lot. Granted, it took a lot of DIY work but, it is possible. And you could do it even cheaper, absolutely!! We rented linens (Succop provides white for free which we just didn't want), a few additional farm tables (again, Succop provides the circular ones for free), spent a lot on flowers (which you don't have to!), and had two different 'trucks' come in for ice cream and coffee. So, 45K for that all is quite good. And without all of that, you could certainly do your day at Succop for significantly less. Wedding Day

Succop employees were so kind and easy to work with. This venue was extremely reasonably priced as well. The venue was so stunning and all of our guests loved it. Parking was very convenient and accessible, the staff placed signs which allowed our guests to easily find where they needed to park.
