Ava’s Cuisine is a dream come true! Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful but once I set up a tasting with Ava’s Cuisine, I knew that I had no worries! If you are looking for a caterer look no further!!!

We heard rumors that the food was delicious and we were definitely not disappointed in that area. Our buffet was absolutely delicious and the waitstaff were kind and professional. The real hang ups came with planning, communication and not fulfilling major needs day of. Recently, this company has taken ceremony to reception flips out of the things they’re willing to do, despite that being the expectation set forth by venues. Come to find out this has been affecting other couples as well and creating strife between the catering team and the venue. This was decided by them after we had made our initial deposit in July 2023, and was not clearly communicated to us. We learned about these changes in January, 2024. With one month notice, we had to spend $400 extra to pay for an outside staffing agency to flip our room. Ava’s claim they took their flipping fee out of our bill, but there never was a flipping fee in our bill as we understood it was included in the full service fee. Additionally, our catering coordinator did not show up for our venue walk through after several emails confirming time and location. Throughout the process, we made some changes to our catering plan but consistently were getting “edited” quotes that did not reflect those changes. Ultimately our quote and final bill were correct, but not without much back and forth. Now on the day of, the caterer did not provide ice as they had agreed to do so, nor did they provide limes that we specially requested for the bar. Finally, as our guests were making their way through the buffet, they were explicitly limited to 1 meat and 2 sides. While I understand the purpose of this for headcount, this style was not communicated to us and our guests found it very distasteful. If we had known that our guests would be rudely limited at the buffet, we would have intentionally arranged to have more than enough for everyone to get some of everything OR we would have gone with a different caterer altogether. Overall, the food was delicious and the day of staff were very pleasant, but the planning and processes of this company created real headaches that were not worth it, no matter how good the food was.
