Blackbelly Catering came to life when award winning Chef Hosea Rosenberg, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef Season Five, decided that he wanted to use his culinary excellence to create unique and memorable event experiences for friends and clients alike.

We are a full-service events and catering company with a mission to provide the perfect event experience through unparalleled service and an unforgettable custom menu using the most seasonal local ingredients we can find. In fact, we source most of our ingredients from our own Blackbelly Farm, where we raise our own animals and grow fresh produce.

We are known for delivering high-end innovative, custom designed cuisine. Chef Hosea, who served as Executive Chef of Jax Fish House Boulder for six years prior to opening Blackbelly, will work with you to create a menu that reflects your style and tastes and will leave you and your guests with a lasting memory.

All of our menu items are hand-made from scratch, including our cured meats, sausages and other items.

One of the reasons we are so successful in our event execution is due to our ability to create a kitchen in any given environment. Because we are considered an “off premise” catering and events company, we have a high level of expertise in this arena, as this is something we do on a regular basis. Our inventory of equipment, including full size ovens, grills and refrigerators allows us to bring our kitchen to you.

Whether it’s a small private multi-coursed dinner for you and ten of your closest friends, or a large scale corporate event, we do it all.

Amazing farm-to-table wedding caterers!

Blackbelly was the only caterer we spoke to that actually cooks onsite when you have a farm wedding with zero infrastructure. They also bring more servers/cooks/captains than anyone else. Their service is impeccable, they really care about detail, and they truly know what they're doing. They will never serve boring, bland wedding food. Instead, we had an amazing farm-to-table dinner with fresh food from local farms for 150 guests. They even put together the special printed menu for all guests and per my request, added the farms the food came from. They really made our vision come alive and we never experienced a hiccup. We used them for bartending too and they were great! Guests raved about them. They may be pricier than others, but it's because it's worth it. And it always shows. And at the end of the day, the full-service caterer makes everything happen (setup, service, bartending, breakdown, etc). Simply put, they are the best.

We really enjoyed working with Chelsea, Matt, and the whole Blackbelly team for our outdoor wedding in Lyons. Dinner was a priority for us, and they helped us craft a truly incredible multi-course, family-style meal. We love the restaurant, and the food served at our wedding still exceeded our expectations; our friends and family are still raving about it! We are so grateful for Blackbelly and their overall quality and leadership. They were so reliable during planning, took care of all rental coordination, partnered seamlessly with our day-of coordinators, and provided incredible service day-of. Our daughter’s fabulous wedding reception took place last weekend at Donovan Pavilion in Vail, Colorado. We were thrilled to have Hosea Rosenburg and Blackbelly out of Boulder, CO, as our caterer. We knew early on that the food would be off the scale. We were, in addition, also very impressed by the service the night of the reception. Everything went extremely smoothly starting with the outdoor cocktail hour with yummy appetizers and continuing with our family style dinner. The food was plentiful and exquisite. Chelsea and Matt did a fantastic job coordinating the event. Thanks so much to them and all the Blackbelly team. We will be regulars at their restaurant in Boulder, for sure, and will recommend them to anyone who needs a caterer! Well done!
