I’m Kolena, the owner & principal wedding planner at Blue Sapphire Events. I love being able to share in the love of two individuals and feel blessed to get to work with such wonderful people each day!
Based out of Arlington, Virginia, I’ve been planning weddings and events for over ten years now.
After graduating from James Madison University in 2012 with a degree in Business Management, I began my event planning career working as the Catering Director for a large private club outside of Washington, DC. From there, I worked in a public relations and event planning role leading the management of numerous political events with budgets up to $1M. Throughout this time, I helped coordinate weddings for family and friends. In 2018, I officially opened Blue Sapphire Events and the rest they say is history!
When I am not planning weddings you can find me going "all out" at Orangetheory, watching murder mysteries with my husband, Carl, or giving our black lab, Olive, an unlimited amount of attention.
