About
Our historic venue in Lexington's beautiful Gratz Park district offers a charming setting for everything from intimate gatherings to receptions with up to 140 guests.
The Bodley-Bullock House (circa 1814) offers a blend of the Federal, Greek Revival, and Victorian architecture. The delicate three-story staircase in the main hall, the finest example of a cantilevered elliptical staircase in any Kentucky Federal-style house, provides an exceptionally timeless setting for photographs. The adjoining living and dining rooms offer a large space capable of accommodating numerous guests and are lovingly furnished with many unique pieces of artwork, furniture, and a rare square grand piano.
Adjacent the house lies a beautiful garden restored to its original 1900’s master plan by the Junior League of Lexington Sustainers’ Garden Club. Avid gardener Minnie Bullock designed the original garden layout herself, and today’s plantings still include her selection of perennials, herbs, wild flowers, and more, making the garden a perfect place for an outdoor event.
The house is operated by members of the Junior League of Lexington in support of historic preservation. Profits from events at the Bodley- Bullock House are returned to the community through the League’s many projects as well as its ongoing efforts to maintain the House.
