I am more of a story telling photographer. I like to start at the beginning and move through the story and highlight, even capture that moment that you may not have seen or known about, and then of course, the happy ending. I LOVE black & white! If I had my way I would shoot only black and white, but I know how much emotion color can show. Even in a black & white I like to throw in some color. You will see in my work that I am not a photographer that likes to spend a lot of time posing people for photos. I am more modern in that aspect. I do take time to get those family photos that moms and dads want.

About Me -

Born in Germany, while my father served in the Air Force, I grew up as the oldest of four siblings. I moved to the states when I was five and we settled in Washington State, after living in California and Utah. I lived right outside of Seattle for about 17 years, and then moved to Virginia in 1998. Love it here, the weather, the beach, and the people. Most of all my family is here in Virginia, met my husband in 1998 and we had our son in 2005.

Ever since I was a child, I have always had a camera in my hand, from my first 110 camera, to a Polaroid then 35mm and now digital. I am not sure how I managed without digital.

After graduating I entered employment with Kodak as a Customer Service Rep, and then moved on to taking photos for the holidays. At that time I realized how much freezing those moments in time meant to people, I then knew that I wanted to be the one taking those photographs, providing those memories.

I have always chosen to remain an independent photographer. My studio is the beautiful great outdoors, but I most like spending time with a family, creating a memorable portrait, spending time with a bride as she prepares for her walk towards her future husband, the first photo's of a new baby. "

Every shoot is a unique challenge, with unique possibilities."
