Our intimate wedding of 40 guests at the rustic historic buckeye tavern was wonderful. Waynette the coordinator was very helpful in making sure everything i wanted was accommodated. The staff was friendly, especially Kelsey, who went above and beyond making incredible drinks that she recommended, made sure my vegetarian guests were accommodated as well as took care of our two kids entrees. She even set up my cupcake display when my delegated friend ran out of time prior to the reception.

My only complaint was that we couldn't reserve the adjoining patio exclusively for the wedding guests and towards the end of the evening many outside guests and servers were walking through our reception to get to it. They were kind enough to allow us our ceremony outside which was lovely. Just wish there would have been a fee for renting the outside space exclusively since the traditional banquet room was already hosting a separate private party.

Over all everything was beyond my expectations. Food was phenomenonal, especially the funnel cake fries for dessert. All my guests raved about them.

Thank you buckeye tavern for making our day unforgettable ♡

Well, I guess everything couldn't be perfect. But, I'm glad it was the rehearsal dinner and not the wedding. In the past the Buckeye Tavern was a nice place with good food and a great atmosphere. That's why we chose it for our rehearsal dinner. Boy were we surprised! And speaking of surprises - they ruined the surprise I had planned for my stepmother and father. It was their anniversary that day and we had arranged for a champagne toast and cake for them (months in advance) at the end of the night. When we arrived they announced "Are you here for the anniversary party?" All this after I told Waynette it was to be a surprise. Again, this was months in advance with reminders right before. Apparently we weren't as important as the much larger rehearsal dinner that was going on next to us on the upper deck. The service was poor. We were basically ignored. I felt sorry for the waitress. Afterall, it wasn't her fault she had such a poor manager. The food was terrible! They used canned crab for the broiled crab cakes. I have never heard of that before and now I know why. For those of us unlucky enough to order them - we didn't eat. One bite was all it took. They were gracious enough to notice and take them off the bill. Of course they didn't offer us anything else. Although after that experience I don't think I would trust them to actually cook anything decent or worth eating. This was not the rehearsal dinner I had in mind. We all managed to have a good time regardless. I would never, ever recommend the Buckeye Tavern to anyone, not even if they were starving. This used to be a nice place. It's a shame that it's gone so far down hill.
