About
Hi,
I'm a full-time musician, Berklee graduate, and bandleader of 3 small Latin groups:
1. The "CAMELIA LATIN-JAZZ BAND" consists of a TRIO (3 musicians) and a QUARTET (4 musicians), and it plays instrumental (no singing) jazz standards but with Latin rhythms, which we identify as salsa-jazz, merengue-jazz, bachata-jazz, cumbia-jazz, and bolero-jazz. It's more appropriate as a "non-boring" type of background music.
2. The "GRUPO CAMELIA Y SU JAZZ LATINO" is the Spanish version of the Latin jazz band and also consists of 2 sizes: a TRIO and a QUARTET. It takes popular Spanish songs and converts them into Latin jazz arrangements, by adding jazz solos. It would be more appropriate as background music for a predominantly Spanish-speaking crowd.
3. The "CAMELIA LATIN DANCE BAND" comes in 3 sizes: a TRIO, QUARTET, or QUINTET (5 musicians). It specializes in Latin oldies and classic songs in the merengue, salsa, bachata, cumbia, and bolero styles, and has vocals (singing). It's very appropriate for lively or danceable occasions.
For any additional information, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you,
Roderick Camelia.
