My wife and I had our wedding ceremony at the Prairie Falcon Amphitheater at Cheyenne Mountain State Park and it worked out perfectly! The value of this space is unbeatable, especially after comparing prices with other ceremony only, outdoor spaces in the area. We worked with Jeanette, who coordinated details such as opening additional parking lots for us, and making sure everything was squared away for us to pay for our guests' park fees. She was super helpful and easy to work with. With the clean bathrooms right nearby, electricity hook ups, and gorgeous mountain views, this was perfect for our 80-guest ceremony. We were able to take pictures throughout the park for our first look, and given that there are all paved roads leading to the amphitheater, we had no issues using a party bus to transport the wedding party. Would absolutely recommend this space to anyone looking for an outdoor setting, who does not want to rent chairs! It was just a short drive away from our reception space, which was also our plan B for any weather. As per any outdoor space in Colorado, I would only recommend this as an option for someone who at least has a Plan B in case of any bad weather! All in all, great experience!

We chose to use the picnic pavillion for our reception and thought we would be covered in the event of a light afternoon rainstorm. Well, after checking the weather forcast everyday for a week and it being only a 10% chance of rain we thought we were good. The day of our event it stormed, heavy rain, hail and even a tornando warning. The pavillion leaked and ruined all of our decorations. I guess that it is our own fault for having an outdoor reception however in the contract it does state no refund due to weather, so I would take that into consideration! As for value, I was excited when it was 250 for the whole day, but then after paying $7.00 per vehicle you really are better off having a dinner or lunch somewhere else. We asked about maybe getting a discount since we were paying for the pavillion and were having around 50 cars and they wouldn't budge. The view was beautiful and its not the parks fault it rained. but for value alone I would find somewhere else!
