About
We are new to WeddingWire, but you can find Clergy 211 reviews and client testimonials here: http://www.clergy211.org/testimonials.html
Founded on the principles of equality, open-mindedness, and unwavering acceptance, Clergy 211 is a network of progressive ministers that offers support to all people, including those who are in need of nonjudgmental, nonsectarian, and, in some cases, non-religious life-event ceremonies and services.
Despite numerous published reports, it is not widely known that an overwhelming number of ministers and churches will deny services to various minority groups - those who are labeled different because they do not believe, live, or love as the ministers and churches instruct - or will not officiate non-members' life-event services unless certain conditions are met. Stories abound of families being refused services because it was discovered that the recipient was a member of the LGBT community, or a Christian memorial ceremony was performed for someone who was an Atheist.
Our clergy come from many persuasions and perspectives and are as diverse as the world we live in today. Some have been former ministers in a mainline denomination, but who may have retired, shifted in their beliefs, or moved away from the tenets of a particular denomination or group. What our ministers have in common is the understanding that all people deserve the best service and ministerial presence and the calling to serve individuals and families where they are, never imposing a particular theology, philosophy, or ideology.
The mission of Clergy 211 is to help to reinvigorate people's sense of acceptance through the progressive and inclusive services and to do this in a way appropriate and considerate of the multi-national, multi-religious and nonreligious, diverse community of the 21st century.
