Clifton Mansion is a historic wedding venue located in Baltimore, Maryland. Dating back to the 1800s, this Italianate villa was once the country home of John Hopkins. Much of this property has been lovingly restored to its original beauty by the non-profit organization, Civic Works. Here, you and your beloved can celebrate your love surrounded by a rich history and romantic architecture.

Facilities and Capacity

Clifton Mansion can accommodate an array of wedding events such as engagement parties, wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, elopements, and day-of occasions. This venue offers picturesque event spaces both within the historic mansion and on its grounds. The manicured event lawn provides an ideal setting for an outdoor ceremony. The couple-of-honor can exchange their vows on the steps of this historic site in full view of their loved ones seated on the lawn. The idyllic wrap-around porch is the perfect spot for a relaxed cocktail hour. Guests can sip champagne and mingle while the newlyweds enjoy ample wedding photo opportunities throughout the property. The grand staircase is just one such space and boasts a beautiful Italian mural as a charming photo backdrop. The 80-foot viewing tower provides spectacular views across Baltimore city and offers a unique photography spot for in-love couples. For those wishing to host an open-air reception, the porch can seat 120 attendees comfortably. For an indoor event, the Drawing Room can seat up to 100 guests. If you have between 100-200 guests, you will need to rent a tent from one of our many partners. Weddings of over 200 cannot be acommodated. The venue’s interior offers many delightful spaces that have been restored to their original glory. Guests can step back in time by visiting the Sitting Room and other rooms that have retained their original charm.
