History

Washington DC used to be known as a world-class beer town without a brewery to call its own. When Christian Heurich closed the doors to his brewery in the 1950s, the DC area had no brewery whose products were available in local stores and on tap outside its production site. That is when Brandon Skall and Jeff Hancock entered the brewery scene. In 2009, both Brandon and Jeff went about filling the glaring void in the local beer market. On tax day in 2011, DC Brau Brewing Company tapped its first keg of beer entirely brewed, packaged, and sold within the District of Columbia. Since that day, this brewery has crafted award-winning beer by using a delicious and unique American blend of North American and European techniques and ingredients. Their beer is now distributed throughout the greater National Capital Region, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and beyond.
