Down River Kitchen & Events is NO LONGER IN BUSINESS! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in your wedding planning process. We wish all couples a wonderful, stress-free planning process and a bountiful marriage with their future partners!

Our team has been attempting to close our accounts with Wedding Wire and The Knot since October 2022, however their customer service is slacking and goes with unanswered calls, emails, and scheduled meetings to discuss and move forward with the full payout of our contract term, regardless of which department is attempted to be reached. When attempting to reach out to the account manager's supervisor to move forward with closure, these requests have also gone unanswered.

Megan was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since, she has moved across the state to graduate from East Carolina University, and furthered her career in the hospitality industry in the Raleigh, Cary, and Fayetteville areas.

Megan's love for planning events started at a young age and has grown from a passion of celebrating with her friends to providing professional event services and industry guidance to her clients. Megan graduated East Carolina University with a Bachelors in Hospitality Management and Business Administration with a concentration in Special Events and Conventions

Merric Jackson
Merric Jackson
Vice President, Director of Culinary Operations

Born in Florida, Merric has spent his life cultivating his love for extraordinary dining experiences. Combining all of the knowledge passed down to form his passions of science, learning, and last but not least, food. Over the past decade, he has committed to culinary excellence up and down the east coast. He has been a chef in many major cities such as Tampa, Atlanta and Charlotte.

Merric was mentored by great chefs that have worked at venues such as the Madison Square Garden, Morimoto NYC, as well as, many vineyards and hotels around the country. His style is a modern interpretation of southern cuisine with a global twist! Merric sees the value of preserving the heritage of the south while building for a progressive future, pursuing all of the wealth of the land here to explore new realms of possibility in the culinary world.
