Shelly at East Congregational is amazing. She is so attentive to your needs and walks with you every step of the way. When I was overwhelmed with planning and just needed someone to listen and bring me back to center, she was there with open arms and warm advice. I love working with her and would recommend having any wedding at this beautiful sanctuary. It truly is exactly that! Thank you Shelly!

My husband and I had a great experience with ECUCC as our ceremony/reception site. We worked with one of the wedding coordinators at the church, Shelly, and she was AWESOME. She was incredibly accommodating to our needs and went above and beyond in serving and helping us prepare for our wedding. There were a few times when Shelly was slow to respond to my emails, but usually if I sent a reminder email she would get right back to me. The sanctuary is such a gorgeous place to get married. We also used the small chapel as our location for the first sight; if you choose to see one another before the ceremony, I can't imagine a more beautiful and intimate place than the chapel. The pictures of this place are pretty, but in person it is incredibly beautiful. We loved taking some pictures in the courtyard garden with a fountain and beautiful greenery and flowers. The church is also close to Aquinas College which is another beautiful place for pictures. We had our reception in the fellowship hall in the basement and it turned out beautifully, but it was sometimes stressful to plan how to make the basement look elegant and not like a church basement. If you are a creative/crafty person, you could do wonders with the fellowship hall. We also appreciated the flexibility of the space - we were able to come in and decorate/set up the day before and had access to the church all day on our wedding day. The price is reasonable when you compare it to churches of similar quality/beauty. ECUCC is a treasure!

At the beginning of the rehearsal the minister announced she had other personal plans for the evening and then spent only about 20 minutes with us and our wedding party.
On the day of the wedding, the bride's mother and father had trouble finding the church and insisted on starting without them. My father missed giving me away and my mother who worked so hard on this wedding was heart broken. If only we'd been allowed 5 more minutes. I cannot recommend this venue.
