I cannot stress enough how amazing and easy it was to work with Emily for our wedding day pictures! From beginning to end she was flexible, easy going, helpful, and thorough. Weeks ahead, she worked with me to develop a timeline for the wedding day to maximize our time and efficiency with our pictures. She was organized and made sure she had all the info she needed from us well in advance- I was happy to have that information sent to her so I didn't have to worry about it just before the wedding. It was so simple and easy to pay her through the program she uses- and stress free to have that already done before the day. On the actual wedding day, Emily was positive and helpful and easy going. She was flexible with any changes to the schedule and worked to capture every detail and moment possible. Emily has a skill for fostering naturally sweet moments in portraits- we felt comfortable to be ourselves in front of the camera- which really shows in our pictures! For portraits, Emily finds the perfect balance between formal and candid, helping to create naturally comfortable moments, while also attending to the details (adjusting my out of place hair!) that would be distracting in pictures. I appreciated that for the ceremony and reception, and all the little moments in between that were spent with our family and guests, I don't remember noticing Emily at all, and yet we have pictures of all those moments! I asked my guests as well, and they have no memory of her being in the way or distracting in any way from the magic of the day. (I've been to weddings where photographers capturing moments in the ceremony especially seem to be very distracting to guests and even wedding party.) I so appreciate Emily's ability to discretely capture these moments! Emily was also thoughtful to take a few snaps on her phone that she was able to send us right away- such a special gift in the post- wedding high, traveling to honeymoon etc. I suppose I should also mention that we were one THOUSAND percent happy with our pictures! Emily did such an amazing job capturing all the special and memorable moments- looking through the pictures she sent us really feels like reliving the day- what an amazing gift! Thank-you Emily! :)

I am writing a review even though I did not end up using Emily for our wedding photography. That being said I felt compelled to review her professionalism, responsiveness, and flexibility because she really impressed me.

I reached out to Emily because I loved her work and my partner and I needed engagement photos done ASAP. She was flexible found a way to make it work on her calendar. Once we crunched the numbers, we realized our budget for photos was smaller than we originally thought (this was our fault, not Emily's). When I let her know we may not be able to afford her services, she not only offered to find ways to lessen the cost but then put together a list of newer wedding photographers that may be less expensive because they are still building their portfolios. Just on a professional level, I thought that was incredibly thoughtful of her, and I wish we could hire someone with that kind of character.

Emily Star Poole was a DREAM photographer--both her talent and her personality SHINE! Before the big day she kept in contact so well and asked me great questions. I felt confident because she asked me about little details. She worked with me and my wedding timeline to make sure we could get all the shots I wanted. We had an indoor wedding, but took photos outside in the SNOW, and left with a sparkler send-off and she handled every environment/lighting situation perfectly--all the shots were wonderful. She also handled a huge wedding party (25 people total) and loads of family photos with ease and organization. On top of her professionalism and the fantastic images she provides, she has a heart of gold and was upbeat, flexible, and sweet as anything! I'm in LOVE with my wedding photos and couldn't have imagined a better photographer.
