I am Béné Bicaba, a native of Burkina Faso who now calls Seattle, Washington, USA home. I am the founder of Empathy Travels, a company with a mission to leverage travel as a fun and immersive tool for cultivating empathy. My vision is for a more interconnected and compassionate world.
Empathy Travels was born after years of internal and external conflicts I felt regarding the travel industry. Observing how others traveled and the stories they brought back left me wanting more. I deeply felt there was a missed opportunity for collective healing and understanding. My own journey of self-acceptance and grounding through traveling to both distant and nearby places showed me blind spots and left me with the feeling that a significant opportunity was being missed.
