A company that does not stand by their work
The simple review is this: they don’t stand by their work, don’t work in a timely manner, & don’t actually care about their customers. I recommend looking anywhere else as the prices are insanely high for low quality work.
The full story.
I was excited to find them initially. I gave them 3 months to get my dress altered, I worried it wasn’t enough time but Eteri assured me it was more than enough time. From my first visit until my wedding I had several fittings. Every time I went Eteri would talk me out of the vision I had insisting she knew better, I gave in but it never sat well as I was paying thousands of dollars for the work. She gaslit me that what I wanted was wrong & made me feel like I was too fat for my dress, I wasn’t. I was assured my dress would be ready 5 days before my wedding, which felt close. Late that Tues. I got a call that the dress wasn’t going to be ready, until the next night. Wed. came and I had to text Eteri bc I was nervous with how late it was, they gave me a pick up time & I picked up my dress, I tried the dress on in a hurry because I had so much to do that day for my wedding. I got the dress home and tried it on again to find that there were issues with the tulle on my dress & the hem was too long. I called frantic & they told me they would come to my home the next day to pick the dress back up & fix it. Thur. morning 3 days before my wedding they came to pick up the dress and said they would fix it, they just needed the dress overnight & would bring it back on Fri. I was in a panic but had no choice. Fri. afternoon Eteri informed me that her sister was bringing my dress back bc it was all fixed. Her sister dropped off the dress & left before I could look at it. When I did look at it the tulle was tattered, it had a ripped seam & visible holes, I panicked. I contacted them, they insisted it was “always like that, was nothing they had done.” I had photos to show it wasn’t always like that & reminded them they had moved the neckline. They said it must have been damaged in transport, it wasn’t when it left my home on Thur. which means the transport was while it was in their possession, thus their responsibility. The next morning I went to my rehearsal frantic that I had an unwearable dress, the neckline was tattered and it was somehow too small even though I had lost weight, my coordinator made calls to a seamstress in Westlake Village that she had worked with before & they agreed to stay open late to see if they could fix it. As I was heading to that shop (Jessica’s Alterations, use them instead) I got a call from Eteri, she said she would come pick up my dress and just remove all the tulle so it would no longer be an issue in a few hours after getting her hair done first, she wanted to take my dress back to Hollywood to remove a structural feature rather than fix her own screw ups, then bring it back hours before my wedding. I told her fine but decided to go see the other seamstress to see if they could fix it. I got to Jessica’s and in 2.5 hours they were able to fix almost everything Eteri had messed up & at a fraction of the price, giving me the dress in the best shape it had been in since I first brought it to Eteri, the only thing Jessica’s couldn’t fix was the hemline (which Eteri never corrected) due to time. When Eteri called me at 4pm to say she would head my way I told her I’d had someone else fix it. I told her that I would like to be reimbursed the $200 I had paid at the other alterations company (I had paid Eteri thousands of dollars) because it was to fix her mistakes. She said we would have to discuss it. 3 days later I heard from Eteri and they refused to reimburse me bc they had been willing to come fix it. I said that I didn’t feel comfortable with her just removing a structural component of the dress, it was too short on time for me to have waited for her & I thought it was only fair to be reimbursed. They were adamant that they would not reimburse me, refused any responsibility, & were incredibly dismissive of my shock. I hope by knowing my experience I can save others from falling for this, someone who will not take responsibility for her work if it is damaged or done wrong, she will have no regard for deadlines, & she will find getting her hair done more important than you having a dress for your wedding. They told me upon 1st meeting that they had a million dollar insurance policy that would cover anything with the dress but then when I ask for compensation for things they very clearly damaged on my dress they tell me it’s not covered because the dress had left their studio despite the fact that it left their studio damaged. I had her make a bolero early on, which I paid her $500 for that she ended up stitching in front of me because when I picked up it didn’t fit properly, that stitch job is so bad that it is unwearable, yet she’s unwilling to reimburse me less than that for my having to find a legit business to fix it
