History
Factory 12 Event Loft is part of the Roviar building, which was established in 1912; it became known as The Shirt Factory as a workforce for primarily female garment workers. In 1944, this workforce incorporated a beauty salon into its facilities, making it the first industrial business in the United States to have done so. By the 60s and 70s, this venue became a division of Arthur Jay Co. Under the new parent company, they began creating sportswear and also became one of the first places in the entire world to play music over a loudspeaker during working hours.
