This place is the best!!!!!

This must be one of the best venues in the whole metroplex to have your wedding or special event. First off, the venue itself is just beautiful. From the hard wood floors to the hanging lights to the patio, everything is just stunning. Next is the food. Blue Mesa has some of the best Mexican food around. We had beef and chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas, and all the sides from chips and salsa, beans, and rice for our wedding and received compliments all night long on how good the food tasted. We also purchased one of their bar packages so our guests could enjoy their favorite margarita, wine, or beer during the event as well. We got a lot of compliments on this too. No matter how much money you are looking to spend, 5th and Carroll has a food and bar package to meet your needs. However, the best part of this place is the staff. Lyndsey and Jenny are the absolute best! They made everything SO easy and were always in a wonderful mood and helped us with every step along the way. I promise you won’t find two better event planners anywhere. And the staff that worked our wedding was top notch too. They were professional, polite, and very helpful throughout the evening with anything we needed. I can’t say enough good things about this venue and their staff. They were better than I could have ever imagined. Do yourself a favor and book them today for your wedding or special event. You won’t be let down!

Lyndsey from the Fort Worth store was amazing to work with and helped make decisions easy and stress free. She made lots of great recommendations and was very generous during test testing and with the supplies she provided for the wedding. Our guests loved the food stations idea; we did a slider station with mac and cheese, made to order quesadillas, and a street taco station. It was a hit! I never would have thought about using Blue Mesa for our caterer until our wedding planner mentioned them but it was a great decision! The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and I would definitely recommend working with Lyndsey.

Great venue, poor experience

The Experience: I can't say we had a bad time because with our family and friends, that would be impossible. Unfortunately, the experience with the venue and staff was not great. It started out good but it seemed to end once we signed our agreement to have our reception there. Leading up to the event, there was very little communication. The day of the event, we weren't given any communication on where to go, who to ask for, etc... We went to start setting up and there was no one there and when someone did show up, it was just the kitchen staff and bartender (1 bartender even thought the agreement stated we would have 2). We didn't have a DJ and were going to have someone use the playlists we created, they even had the ability to connect to bluetooth, which was great! I asked the bartender who I can talk to about how to use it, she left for a few minutes and came back stating they had it working earlier but now it wasn't. Still no one who was in charge as a point person for the night to speak with. Eventually some of the guys in the kitchen came out to help, they were extremely nice and we got it working after about 30 minutes. We then had the same issue with the projector that we were going to play a video on and after making a quick Target run, I was able to get it to work. As the night went on, I wanted to see if there was a cutoff for the food. I asked one of the caterers for Blue Mesa how long the food will be out and they stated as long as we wanted it out. I said great, let's keep it out until everyone is gone. 15 minutes later they started packing all the food up with no explanation. Then it comes time to cut the cake, most people know the bride/groom typically cut the cake but the guy helping with that started walking toward the cake to cut it and thankfully one of our family members stopped him a moment before cutting into it. It's now about 1 1/2 - 2 hours left in the night, I went to get myself and my bride a drink but I couldn't find the bartender, who we paid as part of the package to serve drinks. I waited a few minutes and then left and came back about 10-15 minutes later and still couldn't find her. Still there was no one to talk to about our issues. At the end of the night we started to break down and pack up our stuff and I see the bartender and another woman who I hadn't seen all night. After our experience I emailed the manager or contact person that we had set everything up with to let her know of the issues. She stated she would check and see what happened and that someone should have been there. I responded twice since then with no response and it has now been 6 weeks. Communication could have resolved this issue but unfortunately our issues about a very important night weren't serious or important enough to even respond back to an email. I do not and would not recommend this venue. I guarantee there are just as good if not better venues out there for a similar price that will not leave you to figure everything out for yourself and not care about real issues that you do have.
