We were thrilled to have our wedding so close to my hometown and in a unique location that was simple, rustic and comfortable. Our photos are simply stunning and you'd think we had traveled to 3 or 4 locations based on the variety of background we have- prairie/farmland, wild flowers, a path filled with pine trees and indoor.
We decide to do an indoor ceremony, but with over 100 attending we used the Red "Farwell Hall" location and chose not to rent the chapel space. The folding chairs on site were perfect and a great money saver for the ceremony. The AC held up well in the August heat (but the ceremony was short!)
We had cocktails in the front garden and were able to have an outdoor rock band thanks to the access to electrical hook ups. We made use of the on site picnic tables for this space and rented a small tent for the bar/food.
We had our reception outside under a big tent in the flat space behind Farwell Hall- it was grand in the space and made a lovely statement but didn't overwhelm the yard- leaving room for the playground, porta potties and room to mingle outside.
Parking was no problem, we had signs directing cars to the overflow lot and the path was clear and easy to walk- our school bus shuttle had no problem with pick ups either.
The team at FLV was easy to work with and prompt with their replies. We were able to book additional time for our rehearsal and set up. I'd recommend this location to anyone looking for a rustic setting that can take on any theme and be comfortable for guests to 'escape' to.
