Foreland is a Catskill, New York-based contemporary wedding venue with a rich history. This arts campus was built in the mid-1800s as a mill for producing soldiers' uniforms for the Civil War. After decades of being vacant, the three structures became one, now containing art studios, event spaces, and gatherings of all kinds in the Hudson River Valley!

Facilities and Capacity

There are two distinct interior venues within Foreland. The Waterfront space covers 4,000 square feet, with a double-height ceiling and dozens of large windows looking out to our Great Lawn. The Waterfront space is an ultra-modern feel with exposed wood ceilings and a suspended chandelier. Private suites are connected, allowing for wedding preparation for parties before moving into the Great Lawn for a stunning ceremony surrounded by nature. Couples can avail of this area for endless photo opportunities, cocktail hour, or whatever guests would like.

The Bookhouse is a stand-alone building dedicated solely to private event rentals. This stunning venue boasts exposed bricks, large curved windows, and hand-cut wooden slats adorning a fairytale ceiling with lights like a starry night sky. The connected lofts (2) allow for private rooms where the wedding parties can prepare themselves or slip away for touch-ups throughout the day. Newlyweds can also use the Bookhouse lounge to take an intimate moment together and relax.

Services Offered

Foreland offers two on-site kitchens with heating and cooling equipment where caterers can set up, prepare, and serve mouthwatering meals. The team has curated a list of nearby hotels and dining options for convenience. Two newly-renovated apartments offer space for the married couple and a select few guests. These include two kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and mountain views.
