We had our May 2016 wedding at Fountain Point Resort and the venue was incredible and helped make the day magical. We rented the venue for Memorable Day weekend and about 100 of our guests stayed at the resort for the weekend. It was great to have all the wedding activities onsite. It gave everyone an opportunity to see friends and family and spend more time together. All our guests were out of town, both downstate and out of state guests, so it was great to give everyone easy accommodations. The venue is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding and it was the perfect location for me and my husband. However, I recommend this venue with a user-beware approach. The management is not very professional and communication was a challenge. The most frustrating experience occurred on the day of our wedding. During the dinner our DJ told us he had been told he had to stop the music at 10pm because of a county ordinance. When we signed our contract in September there was a line item about all music has to stop at 11pm, which is what we had told our DJ. The DJ told us he had tried to talk with the venue staff but the owner Eric, was coming to talk with us directly. Once Eric got to the resort it took me and my husband going to find him to discuss the problem, he didn’t have the decency to find us. When we talked with Eric he admitted there was a failure to communicate and they had found out about the ordinance about two weeks before our wedding. I was shocked they had not told us about the ordinance in advance and expressed my frustration to Eric. I was really disappointed by how Eric handled the entire situation, he was not apologetic or sorry for what I think is a pretty big mistake for a wedding venue. Ultimately, I think Fountain Point is an absolutely beautiful and a great wedding venue because of its location, onsite accommodations and a beautiful setting. Unfortunately I do not think the management has the professionalism and experience to run it as a wedding venue.
