Fresh Connections - in two words “Top Notch”

As everyone knows planning an event can be a very demanding and stressful task, let alone planning ones daughter’s wedding. There are many factors that go into planning a successful and enjoyable wedding and one of the most important is the food selection. It is true what they say, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your dream caterer. My task was doubly made difficult by the fact that the food had to be Halal which severely limited the variety of foods available for the event. Luckily, an internet search led me across Fresh Connections.

My daughter had her heart set on a plated dinner service, she did not want to offer a buffet service with all the commonly known Halal foods in offering. This meant finding a caterer that had the experience, a wide selection of entrees and at the same time offered Halal. From the on start, I was very impressed by Fresh Connections, They had an extensive menu selection and were very reasonable. My journey with them began through a very friendly sales rep Tugba, While their website did not indicate Halal options, she assured me that they would be more than happy to provide Halal entrees. After many discussions, we settled on a Cesar Salad, four entrees as the main courses (The Surf and Turf, The Mediterranean Grilled Chicken, Potato Crusted Mahi Mahi and Pasta Primavera) along with sides of steamed rice and seasonal roasted vegetables, and for desserts we chose a selection of fruit tarts, Italian Delights and Belgian Chocolate Cups.

As my daughter was busy with her college courses and was unable to come to the food tasting, it became my task to select and approve of the foods. At the food tasting, my uncle and I were very impressed by the quality of the food and the staff.

Throughout the whole process the staff at Fresh Connections has been outstanding, friendly and very helpful. They worked to accommodate every request we made and some that we did not expect. We had a guest that was Vegan and when asked that they be served the steamed rice and vegetables only, the FC staff suggested a Vegan entree for her, unfortunately, she could not make it to the wedding at the last minute, but that was a nice touch by Fresh Connections.

All the wedding guests had nothing but praise for the food and the desserts. Again, thank you Fresh Connections, for helping in making my daughter’s wedding a huge success. Thank you Tugba, Mina and Chef Stuart Morris for all your help.

Everything Fresh Connections did for our wedding was fantastic! Sera and Mina are a pleasure to work with and the servers were friendly and professional. BUT the food is the REAL star! We had so much wonderful food, and our guests were very impressed. We even asked for special dishes (the Zucchini Bake is amazing), and they didn't blink an eye. I highly recommend!

TLDR: Use Fresh Connections!

We had them cater for our brunch wedding, and were blown away! Instead of a cocktail hour, they provided a superb set of lemonade, tea and pastries for "high tea," and then served up an excellent set of breakfast paninis and make-your-own-breakfast-tacos, delicious breakfast sides, along with more lunch oriented salads and chicken. They even had a chef cook the eggs fresh on-site! We loved it so much that we had friends pack us a bunch of leftovers to take with us on our honeymoon!
They were happy to cook up to five dishes in the tasting process, including showcasing the presentation we could expect. They gave us a ton of confidence walking into the wedding that the food was going to be really excellent! Responsiveness could have been better, but not so much of an issue that we wouldn't use them again.
