Situated in Slidell, Louisiana, Garrett Field is a working polo field and wedding venue that offers a tranquil and elegant space for events. It was established in 1959, giving the locale a touch of historic charm. The property, which is home to horses, is surrounded by stunning views and has traditional buildings with unique design elements. With such a one-of-a-kind setting as the backdrop for the “I dos”, weddings held here are sure to leave a lasting impression.
Facilities and Capacity
There are multiple event spaces that can be used for weddings at Garrett Field. Each is versatile, making it easy for a couple to get creative with their wedding theme. Under the shade of lofty oak trees, couples can exchange vows surrounded by the vistas and their loved ones. The venue also features an open-air pavilion which was converted from an antique airplane hanger that can serve as the setting for ceremonies and more. This refurbished building can accommodate up to 250 people for cocktail receptions or 1000 when combined with the polo field. The other locations suited for such a momentous occasion include the steps of the main house, the sand island, the tree-top chapel, or before the barn. From one of these areas, newlyweds and their guests can move to the polo viewing fields,explore the grass airstrip, or venture along the trails and meadows. Inside the loft on top of the barn, up to 60 people can gather or 45 for a sit-down meal. This space may also be used for rehearsal dinners or as a get-ready room and it has a one-bedroom apartment above.

The team at Garrett Field enjoys welcoming couples to their property to celebrate their love and commitment. In addition to weddings, nearly-weds can also arrange other gatherings here, such as rehearsal dinners. From overnight stays to flexible spaces, the grounds are full of opportunity.
Accommodation
The white house on the property offers overnight accommodation for couples and a few guests. It has three bedrooms and six bathrooms and can sleep up to 7 people. The building features classic architecture and has moss-covered trees surrounding it, making it a memorable backdrop for celebrations. It also includes a full kitchen and a relaxing pool. There are dressing rooms available to use before the walk down the aisle, as well. The loft above the barn is a one-bedroom apartment with a large living room and pull out couch. The cottage is another 1 bedroom apartment with a couch, great for privacy for the new couple or to accommodate family members.
