Tom and Denise Rutten are the owners of Gate City Events and Lodging. They have been married for 27 years and have 3 children. They first moved to Canton in 1996 as they started their family. Together over the years, they have established and ran multiple businesses. Today, they continue to grow Gate City Events & Lodging in the community of Canton, South Dakota. They run the business with the help of their family and employees.

Hello, Hello! My name is Jocelyn Rutten and I am the Events Manager at Gate City Events & Lodging. I have been working weddings for Gate City Events & Lodging since we opened in 2017 and I just absolutely love it. It is incredibly rewarding to see the culmination of everyone’s hard work that goes into a wedding.
