Gemma Gelato is based in Rockville, Maryland, and provides catering services for weddings and other celebrations across the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. Gemma uses the “old-world” method for gelato mastery, which consists of using only all-natural ingredients, producing in small artisan batches using the “hot process” method of production. The hot process creates a more homogenized mixture resulting in gelato with the best texture, and flavor. In addition, our product is “Double Pasteurized” which helps create the extra creamy and smooth gelato we are known for.

Each morning, Gemma starts the day with fresh cage-free eggs, milk and cream. We add fresh fruits, nuts, chocolates and other all-natural ingredients to make, what some believe to be, America’s best gelato and sorbetto. Small details like grinding our own blend of pistachios, hazelnuts and pecans are not overlooked in keeping with the “oldworld” methods. Gemma means “a gem” or “practically perfect” in Italian. We believe the name fitting!

Gemma Gelato is able to supply year-round catering services with their vintage gelato carts crafted in Italy. Their flavor offerings change seasonally, with possible options including mango, stracciatella, tiramisu, chocolate, Italian roast espresso, coconut, and others. In addition, various sorbetto flavors are available to accommodate gluten-free and vegan dietary preferences.
