Debra and her team made my wedding day just that much more special. Debra is so accommodating and flexible with all our requests. The prices were reasonable and the food was so delicious. Everyone kept on talking about the poke, the mahi mahi, the amazing coconut cake, the coconut shrimps, the crab cakes .. I can go on and on. The services the team provided was top notch. They were also timely and the presentations were also very pretty. We are so blessed to have found you to be part of our special day.

Grass Shack Catering is one of the more "affordable" caterers on the Kona Side. Here is the dirty little secret through, the food, presentation, service, and professionalism is nothing like you are assuming you would get from an "affordable" caterer. We catered the Kamaaina buffet for our wedding, and the food was significantly better than the food we have received at weddings that go $60+ per head. The Lilikoi Ginger Mahi Mahi melts in your mouth. The brownies are some of the most decitant I have ever encountered. The lemongrass drumettes fall off the bone. And the Teriyaki Steak is perfectly cooked and is REAL hunks of steak, no thin strips here.

The set-up is gorgeous. Much prettier than typical steel buffet tables.

And the most important thing. Debra and the staff. There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to hype them up enough. Yes she emails and communicates remarkably well, but I want to tell you about what she did that really made a difference.

We contracted with Grass Shack to have them remove our rubbish when service was over. An important family item was misplaced and believed to have been thrown away, and Grass Shack had already left with most of the rubbish. One call to Debra, (which she answered in the middle of the night,) and she and her team were about to LITERALLY dig through the trash to find the missing item. That level of commitment is beyond professionalism, it is kind-hearted, it is generous, it is ohana.

(Luckily, we found the item in trash that accrued after Grass Shack left the premises, and we hope their hands didn't actually get dirty. We sincerely apologize if they did.)

Debra with Grass Shack rentals was our savior. My fiancee and I must have emailed her 50 times with questions, changes, etc. Each time, she was prompt, professional and extremely helpful. The equipment rentals were excellent and exactly what we asked for.

The food was AMAZING! We used them for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Everything was delicious, but all the guests raved about the poke, kalua pork, and fruit.. and demolished the coconut shrimp in a matter of minutes. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Debra and this company.
