We recently booked Hayden's for a dinner party after a vow renewal. We were placed in their Century Room at the venue (seats 56 people). Let me back up and say that 3 years ago I booked a Christmas party at Hayden's for my work and it was amazing and I would've given it a 5 star review. Last week's event though was closer to 3 stars. The food was fantastic. What was disappointing to me was the catering service. We asked for a formal serving (no buffet, no canned drinks, would like everything to be ordered from a limited menu and served). That didn't really happen. We did have more guests arrive (booked it for 30, but 45 people showed up) than we had reserved seats for and although the room was big enough to accommodate guests and they had a closet full of chairs, the caterers seemed really overly upset about this. I didnt see drinks ever get served to the guests, they mostly got up and served themselves.
Also even though we had arranged who would pay the bill in advance, they had printed prices for everything on the custom limited menu. That wasn't very classy and caused confusion, like we were going to make the guests pay for the meal, or like they knew exactly how much the bride and groom were paying.
Also the patio wasn't lit, and the sound system didn't work.
The food itself though, was excellent. Service left much to be desired.
