Karey is absolutely a rock star when it comes to wedding photography! We first met Karey in person to do our engagement photo shoot, and she had such positive and fun energy and made us so comfortable. My husband and I are not the most natural in front of a camera but Karey guided us through a flow of movements and it was so easy. Our pictures on Mt. Diablo (her recommendation) turned out incredible! We had plenty of communication between then and the wedding to go over timing, family dynamics, and necessary shots.

When it came to the big day, Karey and her assistant were on time and ready to go with great energy. All of our wedding party and family were impressed with how efficient she was corralling the different groups and getting different poses completed. Our wedding day went SO smoothly and I attribute much of our ability to stay on time to Karey. We did not do a first look, and we are so pleased with how well the cocktail hour and sunset shots turned out, that we did not even miss that extra photo time. Karey was so on top of it that my husband and I even had time during cocktail hour to sneak away to have a few quiet minutes to ourselves.

Every time I spoke with a different wedding vendor to let them know who our photographer would be, we received responses like “OH Karey is amazing, we work so well together” which is a huge relief to hear while planning a wedding! She got us a sneak peak of our photos so fast while we were on our honeymoon, and the full set of pictures shortly after that. I cannot recommend her highly enough, thank you Karey!!

We hired Karey (Hazy Lane Studios) for our wedding day in August 2022. We had the complexity of three locations for our wedding day: where we were getting ready and did our first look (Lafayette Park Hotel), the ceremony (Saint Mary’s College of California chapel which is where my husband and I met for college), and the reception venue (Bridges Golf Club). We initially came across Hazy Lane Studios because Karey is a preferred vendor of Bridges. To me, this meant that she knew all the great shots at the reception venue and would provide valuable insight throughout the process.

She was so responsive during the planning process and helped finalize our timeline based on her experience. She was timely, efficient, and so awesome to work with on the wedding day. We couldn’t imagine our day being photographed by anyone else!

We got all our photos back right before 1 month after the wedding which is weeks earlier than we were expecting based on our contract. We pre-ordered an album and are so excited to work with Karey on it once we have decided on our favorite photos (there are so many!).

We also were pretty set early on with hiring Matter Video for videography. It was an added bonus that Dan from Matter Video spoke so highly of Karey, and that Karey spoke so highly of Dan and his team. It was a no brainer to hire both Karey and Matter Video. They worked so well together on the wedding day, just as we were expecting.

Karey is amazing! She is a preferred vendor at the Palm Event Center and I can see why. Her personality was clearly heard as we laughed throughout the first phone consultation. As an older bride with Kids and a husband that easily gets annoyed, I wanted a seasoned photographer that can take fabulous Photos without all the fuss so that we can all just have fun and enjoy the wedding. Karey knows how to take charge of situation so that she can capture the best shots. This helps especially since my husband hates taking photos and we have a foot and a half height difference between us. I knew she was the right choice after taking our engagement photos which came out wonderfully. We ended up arriving half an hour later than planned. So we were in a time crunch to take our first look and wedding party photos before my outdoor ceremony. We also only had an hour window after the ceremony to take family photos and romantic sunset photos. Karey took full charge, guiding my wedding party and family to perfect spots at the venue that she knew would have the best lighting at certain times. She never posed us but would direct us to move our arms. fix our hair, etc to capture wonderful shots. Karey had a strong sense of urgency to make sure she captured all the poses I requested. Our sneak peeks look amazing and I can’t wait to see the rest of her photos.
