The Historical Building, built in 1928, is a Spanish Revival landmark recently renovated to preserve the beauty of the past and include the luxuries of today. It boasts 32 beautifully restored and newly appointed guest rooms spanning two buildings. Hotel San Buena presents two Patios, The Recollection Court and the Centre Courtyard, The Velvet Hall with beautifully preserved stained-glass windows, a spacious iconic lobby, and easy access to Main Street and downtown Ventura.

THEATER – THE VELVET HALL

Named for the velveteen texture of an elk’s antlers, the space epitomizes timeless beauty and refined elegance. Surrounded by original BPOE (Benevolent Protective Order of Elks) stained glass windows, The Velvet Hall is a significant part of the building’s grand history. The venue features restored hardwood floors, original decorative fixtures, hand-stenciled beam ceilings, and the historic stage — the perfect backdrop for a wedding or event.
