About
Jimmy Leach has been performing at weddings, concerts, and events since he was a teenager singing and playing trumpet, piano, and organ in churches and with bands and choirs. Jimmy worked his way through college playing trumpet at Disney World, playing piano and organ in churches, and singing with groups. While earning a DMA in music from Boston University, Jimmy played and sang in one of Boston's top wedding bands.
Jimmy's experience and traning in both classical music and jazz and pop music gives him the ability to advise you on the best choices for your ceremony and/or reception. Not sure what you want, Jimmy can play and sing the standard tunes until you find the best songs for the ceremony (processional, special music, and recessional) as well as the reception (cocktail and dinner music and first dance).
Jimmy's experience with classical music includes performances with the Boston Symphony Brass in Fenway Park, Boston Lyric Opera, Oklahoma City Symphony, Granite State Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Grand Rapids Symphony, Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute, and many more.
Jimmy's jazz/pop/rock performances include playing lead trumpet for Johnny Mathis, Shirley Jones, Holland America Line, Opryland, Aspen Music Festival Jazz Ensemble, and jazz festivals and clubs.
Around Dayton and Cincinnati, Jimmy's band has performed at the Levitt Pavilion, Dayton Art Institute, Ghost Baby, LouVino's, Homemaker's Bar, St. Paul's in Oakwood, David's Church, Wright Memorial Library, Piqua Public Library, and the Masonic Temple.
Jimmy's primary performance instruments are his voice, trumpet, piano, and organ. He also contracts brass groups, string quartets, harp, bagpipes, and anything you want for your event.
