A seasoned professional harpist, Laura Byrne has performed in professional orchestras, concerts, private events and at weddings for over 30 years. Laura studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with a master harpist and has been the faculty harpist at Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill since 2005. She has performed around the country for decades with numerous high level professional orchestras and as the principal harpist for operas and ballets and other freelance music groups. She has also performed for well known entertainers including the Johnny Mathis, Bernadette Peters, the 3 Irish Tenors, and the Moody Blues and in special performances at DPAC, Progress Energy Center, Carolina Theatre and Duke Chapel. A popular performer, Laura Byrne is a highly regarded harpist, apppreciated for her professionalism, charming personality and sensitive, soulful playing.
