About
Louisiana, Fells Point's premiere fine dining establishment, has been providing upscale French cooking with true Creole flavor since it opened on Valentine's Day in 2000. Owner John Saki and family created a true destination restaurant that allowed patrons to feel all the charm and elegance of traditional southern dining right here in Baltimore.
The restaurant's interior was designed by the owner himself and many of the pieces you see in the dining areas were salvaged from many local historic sites. The railings on the staircase came from the old Inner Harbor Power Plant, and the staircase itself was built for the restaurant which allowed the second and third floors to be opened for dining. The pink marble along the walls of the bar was salvaged from the closed Saks Fifth Avenue and the nude that hangs next to the bar once hung in the stag lounge at Haussner's. Almost everything you see in the restaurant was hand crafted or hand forged by Fells point craftsmen as well as the owner and his family.
Louisiana presents a romantic setting that is perfect for celebrating any special occasion, allowing patrons to enjoy an atmosphere that is cozy and intimate without being pretentious. Located in the heart of Fells Point, Louisiana sets itself apart from the rest of the area's establishments by offering a quiet, amorous setting along with the area's best French and American fare, all made with a true Creole flavor.
And now those special occasions can be shared with up to 150 people as Louisiana has opened its new ballroom. The ballroom provides a southern mansion setting perfect for weddings, receptions or any other festivity or gala event you are planning. If you want people to remember your event forever, then Louisiana's ballroom is the prefect setting.
Then there is the food. Renowned by area journalists as one of Baltimore's finest upscale eating establishments, Louisiana was again recognized in 2005 by Baltimore Magazine as one the area's 50 best restaurants. Known for its signature dish of blackened shrimp with grits, Louisiana offers an extensive menu serving the freshest seafood and game. The food is stylish with a down-home appeal with the main objective of creating new and exciting dishes that convey a true southern Creole style setting.
