About

LHE works with our clients to help them create the weddings that they want with as little stress as possible. This means that we'll probably encourage you to simplify things, not add them, and instead of asking you to gather lots of inspiration images we'll talk with you about what you want your wedding to feel like. Weddings by nature are often stressful - because almost anything involving money, family, and expectations is often stressful. We are here to talk you down from the ledge, to tell you to ignore your cousin/high school friend/brother-in-law who's questioning your decisions, and to ask you four days before your wedding if you really want to spend eight hours covering your table numbers in glitter. If you do, then we'll be right there with you (we are great with glitter.) And if you don't, then we'll encourage you to put down the glue, and go have a glass of wine with your soon-to-be spouse.

We worked with Alyssa of Lowe House Events, and hiring her was TRULY an excellent decision. Being control freaks DYI-everything-ers, my partner and I hesitated a lot about hiring a day-of coordinator for our wedding, but it was such the right decision because it made it possible for us to drop into all of that and not have to worry about the logistics -- it made ALL the difference in how much we were able to enjoy and take in. Alyssa was friendly and kind, and exactly the right combination of chill and organized (instant email responses when we needed them!) for us -- we had a hard time with a lot of "wedding industry types" but Alyssa totally got us and was NEVER pushy. She made it clear that she was really there to carry out our vision and let us relax -- and she truly did it. I did not have a single worry on my wedding day, and I think it was largely because of her being such a capable and awesome coordinator!

My husband and I were so lucky to have Elizabeth provide day-of-coordination for our wedding at the Kenwood Depot in Kenwood, CA. I was a mostly DIY (and totally type-A) bride, but I knew that I needed somebody, to make sure the day went smoothly. It absolutely did, even though we had ridiculously heavy rain. Elizabeth responded to all of my calls and emails within a day, and the week before the wedding was available for me with any last minute questions, concerns, or just to tell me, "it's was all going to be fine." She reviewed all of my vendor contracts, created a day of timeline, helped us set up for the ceremony and reception, managed the caterer, the florist, the photographer, some challenging family members, kept us to our timeline, set up the dessert bar and coffee, helped the caterer brake down the event, and even manned the sound system during the ceremony because we decided against a DJ/Band. I was able to be present at my wedding, and never once did I worry about needing to make sure something was done, because Elizabeth was that on top of it. If you haven't made the decision to hire a DOC, go with Lowe House Creative, you will be so happy you did.

We had a less than ideal experience with Elizabeth and her team.

Going up to the wedding:
- Elizabeth was frequently on vacation and out of the country and unavailable
- For the calls we did have, I had to keep track of an agenda as they were generally very unorganized. She sold in her services as having structured calls, but didn't have any sort of order.
- We asked Elizabeth's team to help send musician recommendations, as well as florists. They only sent one option and they weren't close to what we had asked for. We ultimately had to spend time booking and finding everything on our own.
- We paid extra for Welcome Dinner services, and ended up completely also doing this on our own. She did not provide any recommendations or support at all.

Day of:
- My bridal party and family complained about my "rude" wedding planner.
- Elizabeth treated our photographer / vendors very poorly and they also complained about her to us.
- She failed to reserve seats for my family at the front of the ceremony, despite us planning to. Mid walking down the aisle we had to awkwardly ask guests to move back from their seats.
- We were promised an Asst. Coordinator with the service, but that never happened.
- Elizabeth asked my Mom (Mother of the Bride) to go "fetch" items from my room as opposed to doing it herself at one point during the day.

In the end, the day of coordinator at the venue saved the day for us and we ended up doing most everything else our selves. Elizabeth brought a negative attitude and experience to our wedding. Would recommend using another planning service.
