Michiko did my hair AND makeup for my April 2015 wedding-- she was wonderful! My main concern was that I looked like myself on my wedding day-- I didn't want to look overly made up with lots of foundation and hairspray. Michiko listened to me and my makeup looked very natural, yet still showed up well in photos. My hair was pulled back, and also looked natural....I have curly hair, and thought she did a really nice job (didn't look too coiffed or stiff). She and her assistant Joy also did makeup for my mom and bridesmaids, and everyone loved the way they looked and noted how natural it was (no one wanted to look like a drag queen going to a wedding!). Michiko also had the most reasonable pricing of everyone I researched!

I am so grateful that I found Michiko for my wedding this past June! I knew it'd be difficult to find a "perfect" artist to do my makeup. I am very picky since I love doing my own makeup and had major pressure to look beautiful on my wedding day, and I am also annoyingly particular with my eye makeup - but thank you Michiko for being so good at what you do!

There are tons of talented makeup artists in NYC, but it was not easy finding someone who is also warm, friendly, and understanding - someone whom you trust and enjoy having around you on your wedding day. After I reached out to Michiko, she quickly responded and scheduled a trial to come to my apt (some artists I reached out to took days/weeks to respond). On the day of, she carried a huge suitcase full of tools... and literally spent hours with me working on my makeup and hair. She was not offended or annoyed when I wanted to change how she did my makeup at first... and she was so genuine and patient in trying to understand my vision. It was so refreshing to have someone so down-to-earth and professional at the same time.

On the day of the wedding, since we knew exactly what to do after that trial, the entire day was even more enjoyable and perfect. I've never felt more beautiful - and I think Michiko's presence and skills have that effect on people.
