About

On WeddingWire since 2023

Montesino Ranch is a husband and wife-owned venue hosting weddings and events in Austin, Texas. Montesino means “mountain destiny,” and this 225-acre working ranch covers sections of Montesino Mountain’s surface, canyon, and valley. Surrounded by wildlife and stunning natural vistas, it offers a tranquil setting for one-of-a-kind celebrations.

Facilities and Capacity

The Montesino Ranch property boasts rustic architectural features formed from reclaimed materials native to the area. The farm is home to many animals, including a free-roaming herd of miniature Hereford cattle, dwarf Nigerian goats, and beautiful horses. Owners Scott and Brenda Mitchell strive to provide a relaxed and happy environment for their resident animals and local wildlife, limiting damage to natural habitats as much as possible. You can host your ceremony in Mountain View Pavilion, an outdoor spot perched high on the edge of Montesino Mountain Preserve. Here you can exchange vows before a dramatic arched cedar structure, applying personal touches with flowers and decor. After you tie the knot, you can explore endless photo opportunities with your photographer while your guests mingle over cocktails. Later, you can reunite in the Cedar Pole Barn with Loft overlooking the front farm acreage for a celebratory dinner reception. The size and versatility of this simply furnished space also makes it an ideal choice for indoor ceremonies. After a day full of festivities, you and up to 18 guests can retreat to their Studios and Pine House accommodations to rest and recharge.

Services Offered

Choose The Montesino Ranch to transform your special day into something extraordinary. They only book one event per weekend, allowing you ample time to set up and break down the space. Your bar and catering team can use the live oak kitchen and cedar bar to prepare and serve refreshments. Equipped with a large iron BBQ, stone campfire, and colorful shell chairs, the kitchen offers a space both to prep food and relax with a drink. Additional amenities include cedar benches, metal lawn chairs, round tables, and other furniture rentals. The team encourages you to reach out for a friendly chat to explore their packages, schedule a live tour, and spark your wedding plans into action.

Wish we could live there forever

The perfect venue for the perfect day. We wish we could live there forever. Montesino has become such a special place and we visited every chance we got throughout our wedding planning. An incredible beautiful place.

I fell in love with Montesino Ranch the moment I went to visit! Pam gave us a tour of the beautiful ranch and I knew it was the place I wanted to get married. The ranch is just breathtaking. The pavilion on top of the hill where we got married was gorgeous! The cocktail hour was at the outdoor bar and kitchen and the reception was in the barn which is so fun! There are goats, chickens, and horses on the ranch, which gave it such a rustic, outdoorsy feel! It just so happened that cool front blew in the weekend I got married and it was the PERFECT day! There are four studios on the ranch for family to stay overnight which was perfect for my parents, grandparents, and my husband's parents! Drew and I stayed at the honeymoon suite on the ranch and it is so NICE! We even had our rehearsal at the ranch. You are allowed to stay at the ranch the whole weekend, so everything was just laid back. We didn't feel like we were being rushed. It was so nice! Pam, the ranch coordinator, was so sweet and friendly! She made us feel so welcome and answered all of our questions! Montesino Ranch made our wedding absolutely beautiful! It couldn't have been more perfect!

My wedding at Montesino was perfect. The view from the pavilion and character of the ranch is one of a kind. The beauty of this place is that it's already perfect, no need to go crazy decorating. All you need is linens, flowers and candles if you ask me. Pam is the sweetest and will make you feel right at home. Only downfall is you have to do almost everything yourself - make sure you hire plenty of staff for setting up and taking down. Other then that - this place is perfect. :)
