The Mountain Larks are professional wedding musicians based out of Charlottesville, Virginia. Having perfected the violin and cello throughout their lifelong musical careers, this classically-trained duo teamed up with the aim of bringing an element of musical elegance to your wedding. Their impressive genre-spanning repertoire contains a variety of pieces from classical compositions and familiar jazz favorites, to fiddle-heavy folk songs and re-imagined string covers of popular love songs.

Experience

Julia Kwolyk is a classically trained violinist with over 30 years of experience. She received her classical training from Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute and Connecticut College, where she served as concert mistress of the Connecticut College Symphony. Julia has an abundance of experience as a session musician and playing with regional folk and bluegrass musicians.

Laurel Humiston is a classically trained cellist who received her BA in music from Western Michigan University, and is certified to teach using the Bornoff Approach. Laurel is a member of the Charlottesville band, Larkspur, and has been known to perform with singer-songwriter Matthew McCallister.
