About
My name is Nick and I am a local cellist in Grand Rapids, MI! I have performed in weddings and other special events for over two decades, but every wedding seems new. From classical to religious, movie score, video game, rock, pop, or cello-looping music, I love seeing what each couple wants for their wedding. It brings me joy to help make their wedding day special!
For education, I studied under the direction of Janet Crouch Shulman (Royal Academy and Philharmonic Orchestra), Larry Veal (University of New Hampshire), the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and New England Conservatory. But originally I started playing the cello because I watched Looney Tunes! After watching Bugs Bunny and the Rabbit of Seville, I heard the cello and was sold. Plus, it was the only instrument they offered in third grade that you could sit down and play :)
Since then, my love for the instrument kept growing. By middle school I was performing in youth orchestras at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA. In Los Angeles, CA I played for orchestras and various studio recordings. Although I have moved from the East Coast to the West Coast and now to the Midwest, I've always played the cello for weddings, and would be honored to partner with you as you consider me for your big day.
