Lalo and Jamie Tejeda bought the bakery in May 2016. Both Lalo and Jamie were born and raised in the central coast. They met in 2011 and often talked about their dreams of owning a small business.
Lalo grew up helping in his parent’s Lompoc deli and always had a passion for baking. He pursued that desire by attending Le Cordon Bleu in Minnesota, specializing in pastries. Lalo has worked extensively at high end resorts creating pastries and desserts for many to enjoy. He also comes from a family of bakers and is thrilled to work in his own bakery now.
Jamie has a degree from Cal Poly specializing in hospitality and event planning. She has been in the wine and food industry since 2002 and always dreamed of owning a coffee and pastry shop where people could come and relax, do their homework, read a book, or enjoy friends.
After five years of sharing different ideas of owning their own business, the opportunity came to them. They bought Lickety Split in Grover Beach, CA. After a few days of remodeling and upgrading, Lalo and Jamie opened the doors on May 5, 2016. On their one year anniversary, they changed the name to Pardon My French Bakery to make it their own and upgraded the menu to showcase more of a French cuisine. After being in business in Grover Beach for 8 years, Pardon My French Bakery decided to relocate to San Luis Obispo and opened their doors on July 6, 2024. They are located at the SLO Ranch Farm and Marketplace.
Pardon My French Bakery currently specializes in fresh baked pastries, gourmet desserts, special event cakes and weddings. Everything is baked from scratch and fresh daily. They will accommodate most special requests with advanced notice.
Products Offered
Pardon My French has become known for their mouth watering Italian-style buttercream. In addition to cakes, they make delicious cupcakes, pave sucree, cookies, cream puffs, mousse, eclairs, cannolis, tarts, panna cotta, and more. If you can’t decide on just one, feel free to build your own dessert buffet. After you have an idea of what you are looking for you’ll have a consultation with the owners to answer any questions and then you’ll be invited to a tasting where you’ll get to decide the final details of your desserts. The day-of you can relax knowing delivery and setup will be taken care of for you!

I love love love these guys! Their cakes, cookies, pies are amazing! Jamie & Lalo are so creative when it comes to their sweets. Anyone can make a cake or a cookie, but for them it's a piece of art! The great thing is, I don't have to wait for a wedding reception to enjoy their treats. They have a bakery shop in Grover Beach that I can visit anytime I want.
I can't say enough nice things about Lickety Split Bakery. Lalo is an incredible pastry chef with lot's of imagination and attention to detail. I highly recommend them for any occasion but especially your wedding. Amazing treats!
