Michael and the Phunkey Monkeys were the band at our wedding. Boy did they deliver! They had everyone rocking and rolling all night long! They have an impressive song list and are simply amazing! Almost 2 months later people are still talking about how fabulous they were!!!

Hiring an amazing band for a New Orleans wedding is pretty much a must. We checked out a few bands around town and found the Phunkey Monkey's at Razzoos downtown (check them out their most weeknights if you want a test run!). I worked with Mike Taylor who is the lead male vocalist, who was fantastic to work with. He was very responsive to e-mail, and when we went to hear them play, came over and chatted with us about our taste in music.

Mike had the speakers all set up, and timed our ceremony songs perfectly. He adjusted the speakers when our Officiant was hard to hear.
The band played our first dance and father/daughter, mother/son songs live, which I was nervous about because Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and the Beatles are pretty tough to replicate. Each song was incredible!! The female lead vocalist and Mike were both amazing, the drummer looked like he was having a blast and I was thrilled to see a Sax player who really rounded out the sound.

The band seemed to love interacting with the guests, even coming out and making me sing Don't Stop Believing and ending with House of the Rising Sun (NOLA version ;) ). The one thing I have heard complements about the most from our wedding was the band, so this group is 100%, without a doubt, worth the investment.

So many people complimented us on how amazing they were! Everyone danced like crazy for hours. Dance floor was packed. People said it was teh best wedding they'd ever been to.

The band was very flexible. I wanted both my little sister and little brother each to do a song, and they went along with it and did a great job. Then some other guests (who didn't understand those songs were planned), got inspired. It was hilarious. We had a 40yo in a bow tie belting out Don't Stop Believing with the band leader. Our guests LOVED it.

It was totally awesome.

These guys are super professional and had an amazing songlist. It seemed there is not a song they don't already play.
