Porch Light is the product of a decade of marriage and eight years of video experience.

I married Amy in 2003. We've traveled through some really good times and some really bad ones. We balance each other well and are loving life.

Our story is part of the foundation of our marriage. Great stories that have stood the test of time have fantastic beginnings. Porch Light helps capture the beginning of your story in a way that will last.

The idea behind the name Porch Light came from a trip we took with some dear friends. Our young sons were eating dinner on the porch in the mountains of Colorado. As the sun set, they were both being very expressive as they told tales of mountains and dragons.

There are few better times than those spent in the waning hours of a day under the light of a porch. In those moments, we reminisce over times gone by and plot adventures yet to come. A Porch Light Film will creatively capture your wedding and help you relive every moment .

Porch Light takes a very strategic approach to filming weddings. We've spent a lot of time thinking about quality vs quantity. We landed on telling great stories instead of booking weddings one after another.

We know this will force us to pass on some amazing weddings. At the same time, if you're one of our ten, you can rest assured that you will have our undivided attention. We think that's a good thing.

Our Approach

No two weddings are the same. We customize our approach with every wedding we shoot. Here are a few of the principles that guide us:

People Matter - We pay close attention to everyone present and try to help you remember them well.

Details Matter - You’ve put hundreds of hours into the details. One of our goals is to prevent those details from fading over time. Typically, we start recording the day before your wedding and don’t stop until you drive away.

Moments Matter - Every wedding has a handful of classic moments. Often the bride and groom aren’t even around when they happen. We search those moments out and capture them for you.

Words Matter - Vows, toasts and family speeches include some of the greatest and most humbling things anyone will ever say about you. How long do you want to remember those words?

Music is a key piece to any great wedding film. All Porch Light Films make sure artists are supported 100%. While this does limit what music we can use, you can rest assured that your Porch Light Highlight Film will never be taken down or muted from any site you post it too. We think that matters.

If you're detail oriented and want to know everything... We shoot with great equipment. We use DSLR cameras to keep a low profile and get great film quality shots. Audio is recorded with a wide variety of microphones. Cameras are stabilized with an array of support systems to make sure no one watching gets motion sickness.
