About

I don't care if one, none, or both of you are Jewish.

Because I want to do your wedding. And, Judaism might or might not be a part of that.

I have done 100’s of weddings and incorporated every imaginable possibility. I do not do cookie cutter.

I do gravitas, humor and personalized.. with Viking swords, in Vegas, in Hawaii, parts in Russian, with a priest, as a surprise, with a fabulous KawaCura Lolita bridesmaids, with R2D2 ring bearer, for GNB folx, co-officiating with MC Hammer, and more…

Let me help you to figure out what it is that will be perfect for you.
And, if you want me to tell you stories about any of the above, I'm glad to.

Modesty about what I do? Not appropriate. I’m the rock-star of wedding officiants.

I have reviews from pros who will tell you that what I do is a “magic.”

I'm based in Portland, Oregon.

And, I travel.

(Prices vary. I'm not the inexpensive option.)

Thank you Rabbi Brian!

Thank you so much Rabbi Brian! My husband is Unitarian and I am non-practicing Jew, but we both were drawn to the traditions of a Jewish-ish wedding. Rabbi Brian has a calm and reassuring demeanor. He clearly cares about the people he marries, and got to know us well. I was relaxed at the altar knowing he was at the helm and would guide us. We told him we wanted a meaningful and heartfelt ceremony and he did just that. He made the ceremony individualized, explained the traditions to our mostly non-Jewish guests, made it sweet and very funny. So many people commented on how much they loved Rabbi Brian. My single friend said she enjoyed the ceremony so much, she decided that she would need to find a Jewish man so Rabbi Brian could marry her! I let her know that he would marry anyone from any religion.

He is simply the best. Thanks for everything. You made our special day amazing.

Truly Above & Beyond

We're not ones to typically write reviews, but when someone goes truly above and beyond we feel compelled. Simply put, Rabbi Brian exceeded our expectations in every way. Besides deciding to get married to each other, picking Rabbi Brian to marry us was the best decision we've made.

As an interfaith couple, with one initially unsupportive family, we came with some inherent difficulties that other couples may not have.

Instantly, Rabbi Brian exuded a sense of genuine warmth, and we felt a deep connection the like we have not experienced before. It was the first time that we not only felt heard, but it was the first time we felt accepted and loved by any officiant. At every step of our journey, Rabbi Brian was in our corner. He was prompt, kind, and patient with our ignorance of wedding protocols and traditions. He freely and without restriction taught us and prepared us for our special day and our future together.

As both of us struggled with family acceptance from one side, Rabbi Brian shined like no other. He mentored us and helped us to develop healthy perspectives while simultaneously offering to borrow trouble for himself in counseling the family. We are forever indebted for the mind-blowing progress he helped all of us to achieve in this aspect.

As for our ceremony, Rabbi Brian crafted it beautifully. Even looking back retrospectively, we cannot think of any way it could have been better. (To give you an idea, one of our friends, who is an atheist , said that she would like Rabbi Brian to officiate her wedding based on how absolutely amazing he was.)

As for our future, we will continue following Rabbi Brian's Religion-Outside-The-Box. Our appreciation for all that he has done for us is incalculable, yet all he has asked for, in return, is a selfie from our anniversaries to come. The fact that he wants to follow us really speaks to the love we feel from him.

As for you reading this review, we do not know the words that speak strongly enough to how much we fully and unequivocally encourage you to reach out to Rabbi Brian for your wedding.

Brilliant!

We are a lesbian and a gender non-binary couple. We weren't certain what a rabbi would be comfortable with. Or what we would be comfortable with. Rabbi Brian to the rescue. They helped us figure out what we wanted in public and what we wanted to keep private. rB helped us to make a ceremony that was reflective of us. Thank you, Rabbi Brian.
