Company Overview
Ruff&Cut founder Wade Watson had a dream to create a luxury jewelry line using a combination of rough and cut diamonds, recycled metals, and a team of experienced designers that would also benefit the people of Sierra Leone, Africa. In 2007, that dream came to fruition and the company was launched nationwide in Fall 2008. The current collection offers one-of-a-kind creations by Tracy Matthews, Todd Reed and Me&Ro to name a few.
Our goal is to create an invisible cord that ties the land and the people who bear the stones to those who wear them with singular conscience—a spiritual cat's cradle, if you like, of beauty & rawness, of source & provenance, and of purity & distinction, all draw-stringed together.
Ruff&Cut's corporate responsibility should be heard in every action and felt in every word. That is the only way to ensure meaning. Which is why, beyond our carefully and respectfully nurtured relationships and business practices, we actively re-invest 10 percent from each sale and a portion of company profits into nonprofit organizations that work to improve conditions in the lives and lands of the people in these mining communities— particularly those of women and children.
The circular logic of re-investment and this sense of completeness are critical to the spiritual well-being of our company.
Inspired by the timeless and intrinsic beauty of the rough diamond, the Ruff&Cut Collection makes social responsibility at once effortless and luxurious.
Each diamond, conflict-free and as yet untampered with by human hands, exhibits a vital beauty that is undeniable. The marriage of this beauty with recycled metals in organic shapes and distinctive silhouettes articulates and honors the singular splendor of the land and the peoples who bring these precious things into the world.
Every piece of Ruff&Cut jewelry is an heirloom-in-waiting.
