Neha's Cakes are absolutely delicious. She is very professional and timely with her delivery. I was extremely happy with the service and the way the cake looks. She listening and created a cake just the way I envisioned. The cake not only was beautiful, but also tasted delicious. This is very hard to find. But I am so glad we went with Saffron and Sugar. Highly recommend her!

We originally did a cake tasting with Saffron & Sugar (Neha) earlier in the year as we were making plans for my daughter’s 7/22/23 wedding and was extremely impressed by the beautiful cake designs AND the delicious taste box that we received. After sampling MANY cake shops - my daughter & her fiance' decided to go with Saffron & Sugar for their 7/22/23 wedding. They decided to do a main cake along with a kitchen cake that would actually be served to the majority of the 150 guest. The main wedding cake was beautiful and came exactly as ordered. However, the "kitchen/sheet cake" that was to be served to the guest was EXTREMELY DRY and seemed to be very overcooked. At the end of the night - the majority of the cake was still sitting at the guest tables which the guest was not eating. It was obvious that the cake did not wow any of the guests as we had hoped. The very next day - I immediately reached out to the owner (Neha) and explained to her my concern and disappointment. Instead of recognizing the possibility that the cake may have been dry - her only response was "if you read the contract - there was an agreement with no refunds". My response to her was....the agreement was also for you to deliver a delicious cake like the samples that we tasted when we made the decision to go with you". We paid a total of $900 for the 3 tier cake along with the kitchen/sheet cake. We were fine with the actualy 3 tier cake but very unhappy with the kitchen/sheet cake. Neha explained the the majority of the cost went into the main wedding cake (which I understood). And instead of requesting a full refund of $900 (which I did not do) - I simply ask that we discuss reimbursing the $250 cost for the kitchen/sheet cake (or at least a portion of it). I went on to explain to Neha that on Sunday morning (following the wedding) our family & friends had all stayed at a hotel in Crystal City. When I came down to the lobby on Sunday morning - all of our family & friends we in the lobby mingling prior to checking out. As I walked into the lobby Sunday morning carrying a large aluminum tin of leftover cake from the wedding the night before - several of our close family and friends said to me “you should throw that cake way - no one is going to eat it - it was DRY! At that moment I did exactly that! I threw the entire aluminum tin in the trash can of the hotel lobby! I only wish that I would have thought to take a picture as proof. There is no way that after paying so much money for a cake that I would have thrown away the entire sheet cake if it were not DRY! When I called Neha to explain our extreme dissatisfaction with the kitchen cake - she simply said I worked very hard on that cake and I also have a new baby! I’m not sure why she chose to remind me that she just had a baby which has nothing to do with her business. As I said to her...."I know you worked hard on the main wedding cake which was beautiful. I then told her congrats on her new baby; however, the fact that you have a new baby should not affect the quality of the cake that YOU agreed to do - so please DO NOT use the fact that you have a new baby as an excuse or to deflect on the the fact that the kitchen/sheet cake was DRY and nothing like what was agreed upon. Despite the quality of the kitchen cake – she continued to say “if you read the contract it says no refunds”. At that time, I realized that my phone call to her was pointless. She thanked me and said that it would be helpful for the future – which I didn’t understand since I will never be doing business with Saffron & Sugar again! As I told Neha – there are so many other things that I would have rather been doing the day after my daughter’s wedding rather than on the phone complaining about a dry cake. I would have much rather been boasting to everyone about just how delicious it was!
