Born and raised in Martinsville, VA, J. Brandon Ingram, more commonly known as Jason, carries a moniker given to him by the man he admires most—his father. His family's roots in music run deep, with his grandmother, Frances Ingram, and his father, Danny Ingram (known in the music industry as Danny Ray), leaving significant marks on the world of music.

Frances Ingram, Jason's grandmother, made her mark as a gospel and country singer, recording two solo albums in each genre during the 1950s. Though fame and fortune may have eluded her, she had the remarkable experience of spending time at the home of the legendary Dolly Parton, forging a unique friendship with the iconic singer.

Danny Ray, Jason's father, followed in his mother's musical footsteps. As a young boy, Danny learned to play music by ear while sitting alongside the church piano player. When the church's pianist moved on to other opportunities, Danny Ray was ready to take the reins. His musical journey led to a successful career, including playing the piano and contributing his vocals to several gospel albums alongside the renowned Ambassadors. He also toured and lived in Nashville for an extended period. A family health crisis brought him back to the Martinsville/Danville area, where he continued to pursue his musical passion by leading the house band every Saturday night at the local VFW, known as "Danny Ray & the Renegades."

For Jason, this period marked the beginning of his deep love for music. He became the band's loyal mascot, shadowing the band members and forming friendships that would significantly influence the musician he would become. These early experiences were pivotal in shaping his expertise in setting up and running sound and lights for events. Even after he moved to Richmond, VA, in 1985, Jason and his dad continued to travel back to Martinsville every weekend for nearly three years to perform. The travel eventually became too demanding, but the passion for music remained firmly rooted in Jason.

Danny Ray later formed another gospel group, "The Webber Masters," in the Richmond area, alongside country music hall of famer Nick Hajacos. Together, they recorded several more original albums. Jason, now an adult, stood by his side at every performance possible.

Music was an integral part of Jason's life from the beginning. He eagerly joined the band and choir during his school years, attending Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield, VA. Under the guidance of Thelma Lohr and Earl Binns, he honed his trumpet skills and perfected his singing voice. His dedication and talent earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious title of outstanding soloist in all-county and all-state competitions. Remarkably, he was named to the all-county and all-state symphonic and jazz bands for all four years of high school. During this time, he was an integral part of Meadowbrook High School's Marching Monarchs, a group that achieved numerous awards and accolades.

While at Meadowbrook, Jason continued to develop his musical talents. He became a self-taught drummer and further nurtured his passion for music. His diverse skills allowed him to become a part of the popular Richmond-based beach music band, "The Fabulous Cruisers," even before graduating from high school. From there, he went on to play for and fill in for various well-known bands in the Richmond area, including "Illusions," "Casper," "The Fat Amons," and many others.

During a period of downtime, a friend asked Jason to DJ their wedding. Despite having no prior experience in DJing, Jason accepted the challenge. His friend recognized his profound knowledge of music, his expertise in setting up sound, and his innate ability to entertain a crowd. Jason worked diligently to learn how to mix and transition music with confidence. The wedding turned out to be a resounding success, and it ignited Jason's passion for DJing. In 1997, he founded "Mobile Disc Jockeys" and has been a DJ ever since.

However, Jason's return to Richmond was prompted by a family crisis. Just a day after he returned with a U-Haul full of his belongings, tragedy struck when his youngest child, Sarah Linn, was tragically killed by a drunk driver in an automobile accident at the tender age of 19. As any grieving parent would be, Jason was lost, filled with emotion, and unsure of his next steps. It was during the ensuing months that old friends, each enduring their own tragedies, reunited, and the concept of "Sarah's Choice Entertainment" was born.

Beyond her impressive role, her history with Jason dates back to their childhood. Becky entrusted Jason with the responsibility of DJing her wedding years ago, and he transformed it into an unforgettable event. The passing of Becky's beloved husband gave those wedding memories an even more profound significance.

In a string of heartbreaking events, Jason, already reeling from the loss of his daughter, Sarah Linn, at the tender age of 19, found solace and reconnection with Becky through their shared tragedies. It was during this period that Becky discovered Sarah's profound love for music and recognized the striking similarities between Sarah Linn and her father.

Taking charge in the face of adversity, General Patton orchestrated a powerful union. She brought together Sarah Linn's father, brother, and adopted uncles, all exceptionally gifted in their own right, to establish Sarah's Choice Entertainment. This remarkable team doesn't just honor and preserve Sarah Linn's memory; it also gives back to the community where she and Jason grew up.
