Hello! My name is Carolyn. My husband and I proudly and independently own and operate multiple businesses in the Des Moines, IA area. Our newest business is currently this one, the Saylorville Event Center. Well, we actually built the building in 2017 to house our other business, Blazing Glory Fireworks. In Iowa we can actually only be open for fireworks retail during a very small portion of the year - June 1st to July 7th and again in mid December through the New Year. I didn't like to see the building set empty for so long, so that's when I decided to pursue my passion of hosting events! I absolutely love to decorate, and one of my favorite things is to help our clients plan and decorate for their big day! I’m always thinking of new ideas to bring to the Event Center while gardening, fishing and camping.

Hi, I'm Shelby and I love working here at the Saylorville Event Center to coordinate and plan events. I have so much fun working directly with clients and watching their ideas transform into reality. I am also a photographer, and I offer my services to all of our clients. When I'm not working, you can find me running one of my three kids to their activities, cleaning up after our German Shepherd who sheds way too much (that my husband talked me into), or hosting an event of my own!
